isvarah paramah krsnah
sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah
anadir adir govindah
sarva-karana-karanam
(Brahma Samhita, 5.1)

SYNONYMS
isvarah--the controller; paramah--supreme; krsnah--Lord Krsna; sat--comprising eternal existence; cit--absolute knowledge; ananda--and absolute bliss; vigrahah--whose form; anadih--without beginning; adih--the origin; govindah--Lord Govinda; sarva-karana-karanam--the cause of all causes.

TRANSLATION

Krishna who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes.

po mnenju Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu-ja in ostalih realiziranih svetnikov sta zadnji besedi v spiritualnosti Absolutna resnica, Sri Krishna in Krishna-Bhakti (Radharani), tj. cista in brezpogojna vdanost Sri Krishni.

le postopoma nam bo to lahko ratal jasn.

Sharagrahi Vaishnava

by Srila Saccidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura

Alas for those who spend their days
In festive mirth and joy.
The dazzling, deadly, liquid forms
Their hearts fore'er employ.

The shining bottles charm their eyes
And draw their heart's embrace;
The slaves of wine can never rise
From what we call disgrace.

Was man intended to be
A brute in work and heart?
Should man, the Lord of all around,
From common sense depart?

Man's glory is in common sense
Dictating us the grace,
That man is made to live and love
The beauteous Heaven's embrace.

The flesh is not our own alas;
The mortal frame a chain;
The soul confined for former wrongs
Should try to rise again.

Why then this childish play in that
Which cannot be our own;
Which falls within a hundred years
As if a rose ablown.

Our life is but a rosy hue
To go ere long for naught;
The soul alone would last fore'er
With good or evil fraught.

How deep the thought of times to be!
How grave the aspect looks!
And wrapt in awe become, O, we,
When reading Nature's books.

Man's life to him a problem dark -
A screen both left and right;
No soul hath come to tell us what
Exists beyond our sight.

But then a voice, how deep and soft;
Within ourselves is left;
Man! Man! Thou art immortal soul!
Thee Death can never melt.

For Thee Thy Sire on High has kept
A store of bliss above,
To end of time, thou art Oh! His -
Who wants but purest love.

O Love! Thy power and spell benign
Now melt my soul to God;
How can my earthly words describe
That feeling soft and broad.

Enjoyment, sorrow - what but lots
To which the flesh is heir?
The soul that sleeps alone concludes
In them it hath a share.

And then, my friends, no more enjoy
Nor weep for all below;
The women, wine, and flesh of beasts
No love on thee bestow.

But thine to love thy brother man
And give thyself to God,
And God doth know your wages fair -
This fact is true and broad.

Forget the past that sleeps and ne'er
The future dream at all
But act in times that are with thee
And progress thee shall call.

But tell me not in reasoning cold,
The soul is made alone
By earth's mechanic lifeless rules
And to destruction prone.

My God who gave us life and all
Alone the soul can kill
Or give it all the joys above
His promise to fulfill.

So push thy onward march, O soul,
Against an evil deed
That stands with soldiers Hate and Lust -
A hero be indeed.

Maintain thy post in spirit world
As firmly as you can
Let never matter push thee down -
O stand heroic man.

O Sharagrahi Vaishnava soul
Thou art an angel fair;
Lead, lead me on to Vrindaban
And spirit's power declare.

There rests my soul from matter free
Upon my Lover's arms
Eternal peace and spirits love
Are all my chanting charms.

All Glory to Sree Sree Guru and Gauranga!

We should not be disappointed by the happenings of the world and
give up our Bhajan (worship of God). This world is the place of turmoil and
disturbances caused by the illusory energy of Supreme Lord Sri
Krishna. Only a completely surrendered soul can emancipate himself
from the grip of this illusory energy and surmount the ocean of
births and deaths- threefold afflictions. We are to practice six-
fold Sharanagati (surrender), which is the basis of devotional life. Without
Sharanagati, there cannot be Bhakti (devotion).

We should not be perturbed by mundane, worldly loss and gain. We
should be very careful about the eternal benefit of the real self,
which will go with us. Whatever is done by the Will of Supreme Lord
Sri Krishna, Who is All-Good, is for the eternal benefit of all.
Jivas (living beings) reap the fruits of their own karma (actions). Nobody is to be blamed for
this. We should not be perturbed under any circumstance and give up
Bhajan in our short duration of stay in this transitory world. A
completely surrendered soul is always protected and maintained by
Sri Krishna. There is no cause of anxiety to him. He remains calm
under all circumstances. We cannot see adjustment and cannot find
solution by our own capacity. Total unconditional submission is the
only way of solving all problems. Jivas commit offence at the Lotus
Feet of Sri Krishna, when they, being eternal servants of Sri
Krishna, become averse to Him. As long as Jivas will not remove this
offence, there will be no practical solution. Maya (illusory energy) will surely
envelope them and there will be desire for enjoyment, which will
hurl them down to hell - intense suffering.

Sree Sree Guru Gaurangau Jayatah!

Acts or works which are executed with the desire to obtain results for oneself are known as karma. Acts which are directed toward God without desire for results for oneself are known as bhakti. Good works, in and of themselves, will not be sufficient to bring about realization of God. However, when performed with the intent to serve God, then He can be realized. Likewise, jnana (cultivation of knowledge), in and of itself, will not reveal God. The cultivation of knowledge aligned with the desire to serve God will bring about realization of Him. If one proclaims himself to be a Hindu, a Muslim, a Jew or a Christian, these things can be changed. By altering one's mode of dress, language or rituals, a Muslim can become a Christian, etc. However, the essential element which lies at the root of these different faiths is devotion to God. Whether one is a Hindu, a Jew, or whatever, to claim to be religious must surely mean that one is a servant of God. This fact cannot be changed. In Sanskr it this is known as sanatana-dharma. Sanatana means "eternal" and dharma, in this context, means "that activity which is intrinsic to one's very existence," just as heat is an intrinsic quality of fire. What is the nature of that activity? That one is eternally serving. Service is not something we can choose to do or not do. Where is the living being who is not serving? One serves one's employer, one's parents, one's children, husband, wife, pets, and even inanimate things such as cars, etc. From birth to death, service is there. The choice which we can make, however, is who or what is to be the object of our service. Krishna is the only true object of service. Krishna is eternally existing and the jivatmas are also eternally existing. The relationship between them is also eternally existing. Bhakti, or sanatana-dharma, is the link between God and His devotees. Love of God is independent of caste, color, or creed.

Sincerity of heart is the only requirement. Bhagavad-gita (18.66) states:

sarva-dharman parityajya  mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo  moksayisyami ma sucah

"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear."

Certain souls obtain freedom from the grip of Prakrti. Krsnaika-sarana, or surrender to Lord Krishna, is the only means of crossing over the ocean of birth and death (samsara). Performance of one's duty, simple morality, development of bodily or mental powers, acquisition of material knowledge, detachment from material things, or even the knowledge that one is a spiritual being cannot bring about realization of God. Vision of God is proportionate to the degree of bhakti or love for Him in one's heart. Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita (18.55):

bhaktya mam abhijanati   yavan yas casmi tattvatah
tato mam tattvato jnatva   visate tad-anantaram

"One can understand Me as I am, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, only by devotional service. And when one is in full consciousness of Me by such devotion, he can enter into the kingdom of God."

To possess bhakti or love for God means to have come in contact with a vaisnava-- a lover of God. This comes about due to sukrti or past tendencies towards spiritual culture. If one holds ice near one's body, he becomes cold. If one holds a flame near one's body, he becomes hot. If one associates with a devotee-- a vaisnava-- he becomes devoted to God. Prahlada Maharaja was a great devotee who, when he was only a young boy, spoke of nine processes which, if executed with sincerity, are sure to reinstate one's original position as an eternal servitor of the Lord. He says in the Srimad-Bhagavatam (7.5.23-24):

sravanam kirtanam visnoh    smaranam pada-sevanam
arcanam vandanam dasyam  sakhyam atma-nivedanam

iti pumsarpita visnau   bhaktis cen nava-laksana
kriyeta bhagavaty addha   tan manye 'dhitam uttamam

"Hearing and chanting about the transcendental holy name, form, qualities, paraphernalia, and pastimes of Lord Visnu, remembering them, serving the lotus feet of the Lord, offering the Lord respectful worship with sixteen types of paraphernalia, offering prayers to the Lord, becoming His servant, considering the Lord one's best friend, and surrendering everything unto Him (in other words, serving Him with the body, mind, and words) these nine processes are accepted as pure devotional service. One who has dedicated his life to the service of Krishna through these nine methods should be understood to be the most learned person, for he has acquired complete knowledge."

kjer ni vec moznosti izbire, svobodna volja izgubi pomen. prav tako svobodna volja nima smisla, ce so vse moznosti izbire popolnoma enakovredne.
