People who are born with Mercury retrograde are not necessarily at any disadvantage when it comes to the capacity to communicate, (unless that Mercury is severely afflicted), and many many people in the communications field have a retrograde Mercury. Fully 25 per cent of all people on the planet were born with Mercury retrograde. If you have a retrograde Mercury in your birth chart, you are a deeper thinker than most, because a retrograde planet is a more magnetically charged energy, (as opposed to a direct planet's electrical energy which just flows through you).. A retrograde planet's energy comes in, and then you must polarize it within,that it, go through an internalized process whereby the planet's energy is integrated inside you, before you are able to use it fully and express it outwardly. So retrograde Mercury people take a bit longer to process their thoughts and express them, or go through a much more creative process with their expression. Many actors, artists and great communicators have a retrograde Mercury in their birth charts. The one thing about retrograde Mercury people is that they tend to progress through life and arrive at goals at a slower pace than those with direct Mercury's because they are on the retrograde cycle. That is, the most significant events tend to happen in a retrograde Mercury person's life when Mercury is actually retrograde by transit. So progress is slower, but more profound and distinctive for these people. Also, people with retrograde Mercury's tend to have an easier time in general when Mercury is retrograde by transit, and are not subject to the same rules as everyone else when under a retrograde influence. In other words, if you have a retrograde Mercury in your birth chart, you CAN sign a contract or enter into a new business deal or buy a new house when Mercury is retrograde!
