Title: LUNA in PLANETI danes
Post by Kali on 19.06.2003 at 10:53:36

The Moon is in watery and diffusive Pisces all day today, but we may not feel as soft and fuzzy and the symbolism would suggest. Remember, red-hot Mars has just entered Pisces and is drawing nearer to Uranus—that wild and crazy planet. So, as the Moon sweeps through the early part of Pisces, it contacts both Mars and Uranus, thereby stirring up the cosmic soup and perhaps tossing off a few lightning bolts to further shock us into greater awareness. This is an early warning for the energy that needs to be released over the next week. (če ima kdo namen to prevajat, you are welcome ;))

The Moon is still in spiritually sensitive Pisces, but the energies are softer today than yesterday. Whatever conflicts may have surfaced now settle back down into the soup of our subconscious feelings. Today, both Venus and Mars form a harmonious trine with Neptune—the key planet of Pisces. This puts a rose-colored tint on what once was reality. Reality becomes what we imagine. This can be highly creative and we can manifest our dreams, but can also set up difficult situations if we try to escape from the truth.

General Daily Overview
The Moon enters the fiery sign of Aries the Ram at 11:06 am EDT. This is normally a time to initiate action, especially when it is based on our feelings. But the bigger cosmic news for the day is that it is the Summer Solstice, marking the first day of summer. Astrologically, this happens when the Sun enters the emotional sign of Cancer the Crab. We feel the contradiction between the passive and self-protective hard-shelled Crab and the aggressive Ram that impulsively needs to move forward without hesitation.

The Moon is in earthy Taurus today, which is usually a stabilizing factor, but this is one of those days when there’s a lot going on in the cosmos. The Sun, now in the sign of Cancer, aligns with Saturn-the Tester and pushes our emotions up against a wall. The Sun aligns also harmonizes with Uranus and Mars, indicating powerful, even explosive expression, even in areas of our life where we might feel stuck. And, if this isn’t enough, sweet Venus is tensely opposing dark Pluto now, bringing hidden feelings to the surface.

The Moon is in determined Taurus all day. Traditionally, the Moon is very comfortable in the sign of the Bull, for here she has the stability to stay in touch with her feelings. And since Taurus is connected with the planet Venus, there is a sweet sensuality to what is going on. There’s not a lot of other planetary activity now, but the last several days have been so intense that we can really use this time to integrate what’s already transpired and to ground the energy in practical ways.

The Moon enters Gemini, the sign of the Twins, today at 12:12 pm EDT, marking a shift in the cosmic energy. We move into a couple of days of gathering information and making connections, both in the outer world and within our own thinking process. Gemini is a sign of contradictions and we can be faced with unsolvable mental puzzles. This might offer some relief to the heavy emphasis on emotions that have predominated these last days. We can all gain perspective from our thoughts, but it’s important to avoid using logic to replace feelings.

The Moon remains in Gemini throughout the day. This keeps things moving, for Gemini tends to be a mentally active sign. The Moon here can be fickle. The winds of our feelings change often. The Moon is also harmonizing today with visionary Neptune and optimistic Jupiter, giving lift to our ideas. We are like untethered kites, free to fly in the breezes of change. The only danger comes from flying too high, without having a way back down to the safety of ground. Think about finishing old business, for the New Moon is on the way.

The Moon is in Gemini, asking us to pay attention to how information flows through our life. But it’s not just about words. It is our patterns of interactions. This is a good time to think about which activities are necessary and which are distraction. Of course, the Moon in Gemini likes distraction. Additionally, Mercury, which is Gemini’s planet, forms a stressful aspect with diffusive Neptune. It’s a conflict between having too much details and yet not enough information. The best course of action may be decided by intuition and not by the data.

General Daily Overview

The cosmic weather changes today as the Moon enters Leo at 9:12 am EDT, bringing our feelings more into the open. A slow moving harmonious aspect between expansive Jupiter and powerful Pluto now reaches fruition. Its time to make our intentions known, but we must work for the good of all. Mercury-the Communicator trines aggressive Mars, giving us the energy to initiate discussion about what is most important. Even though American Independence Day is still three days away, we may see some early emotional fireworks.

The Moon is in fiery Leo today, reflecting our need to be appreciated by those we love. Leo love is a personal and romantic love that needs to be expressed outwardly. The Moon in Leo brings out feelings of loyalty, although we are still picking up on the Sun and other planets in changeable Cancer. Speaking of changeable, Venus is in her last few days of being in restless Gemini where she makes a tense aspect with spaced-out Neptune. We think we know what we want, but it’s difficult to pin down the specifics.

The Moon changes signs today at 4:15 pm EDT, from warm and playful Leo into cool and analytical Virgo. It we are paying attention, we can feel the difference in our inner world as our subconscious no longer is pushing us to engage fully. Now, instead of putting it all out into the open, we think carefully about what we are feeling before expressing it. As the Moon moves through the early part of Virgo, it forms a tense opposition to both Uranus and Mars, creating the possibility of emotional upsets.

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:48 am EDT. Sagittarius is a Centaur—the lower half is animal and the upper half is human. The human part is aiming an arrow into the sky, symbolizing our need to aspire toward the heavens as we overcome our basic animal nature. The Sagittarian Moon asks up to grow, to learn, to travel and to make plans for the future. Meanwhile, dark Pluto is being aspected by the Sun and Mercury, which can make it difficult for us to leave the shadows too far behind as we aspire toward the blue sky.

(včeraj: The Moon is in Scorpio today, continuing yesterday’s overall emotional tone, but spirits will tend to be just a little lighter as the restrictions of the Venus-Saturn conjunction now begin to pass. Additionally, we have minor tension between mental Mercury and physical Mars. This can push us toward saying things or taking action without fully considering the consequences, which in turn can create difficulties. If there were issues that were avoided yesterday, we may run headstrong into them today. )

The Moon is in Sagittarius, lifting our spirits above the mundane circumstances of our lives, adding optimism and inspiring us toward greater adventure—and tempting us to choose partying over worrying. Speaking of partying, Venus, the planet of romance and desire, forms a harmonious trine aspect with Mars, the planet of physical energy. Venus and Mars are the cosmic lovers, and when they are in harmony, it bodes well for the Department of Love. This won’t cure all that ails us, but it can temporarily make things a bit more pleasant.

(21.7.03)

Even though it’s a back-to-work Monday for many, the pace of life becomes slower and steadier as the Moon enters Taurus at 6:48 am EDT. Traditionally, the Moon is said to be “exalted” in the sign of the Taurus, for it has the stability to allow the Moon to change—as she does—without losing her sense of who she is. The Moon, after all, represents our feelings, our bodies and our dreams. Today, the Moon forms a supportive sextile aspect with both Uranus and Saturn, symbolizing the need to break through without breaking up.

********************************************************

(22.7.) The Moon is in down-to-earth Taurus. What we sense is real; if we cannot perceive it with our senses, then it doesn’t exist. But there is a deeper note being played on the cosmic harp as Mercury the Messenger enables intense Pluto, forming a harmonious trine. Mercury was the only Greek God who could travel unharmed back and forth over the River Styx, which separated Pluto’s underworld from what appears here on the surface. We can use this aspect to visit the depths of our subconscious mind and bring back jewels of awareness.

New Moon in Leo
Monday July 28, 2003 11:53pm PDT
5º 46'

More than any other sign, Leo rules a strong relationship with Ego. In most spiritual circles there is a sense of suspicion and negativity around the concept of Ego. But Ego is a whole lot more than selfishness, narcissism and self-aggrandizement. It is the Self, knowing the self, in all its complexity and beauty. The more we know about who we are, the more our actions become infused with an awareness of their effect. So basically this is the New Moon to put some energy behind the idea of knowing yourself better, and becoming responsible for the energy (negative and positive) you output everyday.

Leo's most evolved form is a very adult expression of ego development that disavows self-aggrandizement and acts from a deeply compassionate heart. The Dalai Lama comes to mind. It seems we rarely witness this kind of selflessness in our leaders. Most of what we see is Leo's immature, narcissistic side, which constantly demands attention and affirmation from outside itself. With Venus (relational skills), Mercury (communication skills), Sun (ego needs), Moon (emotional needs) and Jupiter (grandiosity and exaggeration) and all in Leo, this is the perfect New Moon to look deeply at how much of what you say and do, is done to appease an inner need for attention, recognition and a feeling of specialness. True self-esteem is built by developing a calm center from which all decisions are made and all actions are undertaken.

Our culture suffers from an intense attachment to the cult of personality and an inability to embrace values of humility and modesty. We also have a very unhealthy relationship with the process of aging. There is little acceptance of the beauty and wisdom inherent in growing older. This is an especially hard issue to tackle on a Leo New Moon. It calls up all kinds of fear around becoming old, ugly, frail and useless. Try reading stories about older, wiser women and men and then imagine yourself at 70, 80 or 90. What will you look like, what will you wear, how will you be spending your time, what will our world look like and how will it receive or reject you? Hopefully this exercise may inspire you to commit some of your time and talent to the elders in your family or community.

Our world also suffers from Leo's other terrible trait—a very warped relationship to power. Leo is the sign of personal power, another bugaboo word! What exactly does that mean? In our world it usually means power-over, which expresses itself in everything from caring only about personal gain, having excessive influence over others and exerting one's own desires upon others, to war mongering, exploitation and land grabbing. Sound familiar? America has its natal North Node (where the nation is evolving) in Leo in the 8th house (issues of world power and control). Certainly our nation's behavior over the last three years has shown a very warped relationship to power. This is the New Moon to redefine personal power as a means to engender communal empowerment, coexistence and upliftment. Starhawk refers to this kind of power as power-with. I define this very evolved expression of Leo as true leadership. When we know ourselves, we know our gifts, and this makes us feel a tremendous responsibility to share our talents in an effort to make life better for everyone around us.

On the other hand, Leo wants us all to understand that our lives are one big canvas and we get to fill it with whatever we want. So dream a little…all right, dream a lot. The way of Leo is big, big, big! Think, "big-budget Hollywood". Consider what your life would be like if you embraced the risk-taking romantic that lives inside of you, buried deep beneath the weight of all your worldly responsibilities. Pick one area of your life and give it over to this part of you. You'll be amazed at what can happen!

Leo rules creative self-expression and represents the artist in each of us. This is the New Moon for increasing your creativity. The New Moon in Leo is all about discovering your personal aesthetic and finding the right modus operandi for expressing it. Those of you who are artists can use this New Moon to start a new project or initiate a new direction in your work, build a stronger belief in your own vision, or bolster your ability to handle the vast amount of rejection most artists face at one time or another. I know, some of you are sitting there saying, "Well I'm not an artist, what does this have to do with me?" Just look at the clothes in your closet and the things you buy to accessorize your home. We all make aesthetic decisions every day! Leo increases our sense of what makes us special.

This is also the New Moon for romantic love. With Venus (love and relationship), Mercury (communication skills), Sun (energy), Moon (emotional needs) and Jupiter (big, big bliss) and all in Leo, and Mars in Pisces, there is no excuse for not diving into the arms of your lover. This is going to be one of the most romantic Leo New Moons in a long time. So don't waste it!!! When it comes to love, Leo loves romance; full-blown choreographed romance. If you are just not getting enough attention from your partner, or you are lonely and looking for love, this is the New Moon to create a powerful ritual to invoke and invite romance into your life. For those of you who have a partner, make the ritual a love-fest and pull out all the stops: candles, wine, roses, anything to awaken the senses. For those of you who wish to invite love into your lives, do the same while envisioning "Mr. or Ms. Right" being right there with you. You can make love show up in your life with clear intention and a strong desire to love and be loved.

Those of you who tend toward the Leo drama-queen specturm of emotional expression, beware, with all these planets in Leo, the temptation to be an enfant terrible will be almost irresistible. This is a very good New Moon cycle to take a hard look at your own emotional patterning; especially if you suffer with mood swings. It is possible to love deeply, feel deeply, and create deeply, without wreaking havoc in your own life and the lives of those around you. I have been writing a lot about depression since Saturn moved into Cancer, but Bipolar disorders are nearly as prevalent, and just as crippling. So if you find yourself being held hostage to periods of serious lows and manic highs, it is time to seek treatment. By the way, bipolar disorders were once thought to only occur in young adults and adults. But now there is a tremendous amount of evidence for childhood bipolar disorders, which are often misdiagnosed as ADD/ADHD. If you want more information about childhood bipolar disorders, you can visit www.bpkids.org a wonderful online resource for parents.

One last Leo issue. Leo often gets hooked into the importance of keeping up appearances; how we look, what we own, what we do, become, for many people, the definers of self. More than anything Leo wants to be noticed and appreciated. But the goal here is not to simulate a fashion model or movie star. The idea is to allow your appearance to reflect the beauty inside your heart, soul and mind. Healthy lifestyles are extremely important, and right now obesity is one of the greatest health problems in America. So if you need some inspiration to get in shape and feel better, this is the right New Moon start a diet and exercise program. Some of you may just want to experiment with a new hairstyle or try a new look. This is good time to indulge a little, by gifting yourself with healing treatments for your body. Live a little and treat yourself to something special.

So enjoy this beautiful, fun and creative New Moon cycle!

The Full Moon in Aquarius occurs just after midnight (12:49 am EDT). This Full Moon symbolizes our need to be a part of the collective, yet still shine as an individual. The Leo Sun represents the heart of gold. The Aquarian Moon cools the solar heat and intellectualizes the emotions. The lovers—Venus and Mars—are creating harmonious trines to intense Pluto and stable Saturn. There is substantial progress, but with mental Mercury forming a stressful square aspect to Pluto, it’s not going to be completely smooth.

The Moon is in the sign of Pisces the Fish today, symbolizing our need for understanding and our tendency toward compassion. Like the Fish, we are surrounded by a sea—but ours is a sea of consciousness, feelings and spiritual subtlety. Accordingly, we may feel more spacey, less grounded. Yet, Mars is also in Pisces now, so we can also feel free-floating anger, without being able to find its source. Day by day, until the end of the month, retrograde Mars comes closer and closer to Earth, pushing us to take action.

The Moon remains in Pisces today, helping us all be more sensitive that usual. With Mars and Uranus already in Pisces, these three planets make a convincing case for spiritual endeavors, even if we become more uncertain about the real world. The difficult part of this is that there are also three planets in fiery Leo, making their own case for focusing on only what is apparent. On one hand, the Leo planets are enticing us to follow the yellow brick road. On the other hand, we may not know which way to go.

We begin the work week with a relatively stable Moon in Taurus. Venus, the key planet of Taurus aligns with the Sun today, giving us a much-needed reprieve from the intensity of the past days. Unfortunately, this Sun-Venus conjunction is square the Moon’s Nodes, so we might not let ourselves feel okay about letting down our guard. We truly can enjoy life now, but there is a background, an existential angst that just won’t let go. Enjoy what you can, but don’t judge yourself too harshly for what you cannot control.

The waxing Moon in Taurus today reaches its 3rd Quarter phase, placing temporary stress on the Sun in Leo. Although the Moon is supposed to be relatively happy in sensual Taurus, today it must contend with a crisis, however small. And, to make the situation more complex, the Sun is still aligning with Venus. As the Moon squares the Sun, it also squares Venus. Just because we can express our needs, this doesn’t mean we can easily get them fulfilled. Work through the situation with an eye to the Full Moon next week.

The Moon is in Gemini all day, symbolizing our need for variety and diversity. We may not be satisfied until we’ve heard all sides of a story. In fact, we are easily distracted. Venus, which has been tracking close to the Sun for the past few days, now reaches conjunction to Jupiter, which in turn will align with the Sun tomorrow. Traditionally, this is a good aspect, creating good will, optimism in love and pleasant experiences. The only pitfall is the tendency to overindulge.

General Daily Overview
The Moon is in Leo all day, putting on a show of loyalty and warmth of feelings. Of course, too much of a show can be enough to put others off. Additionally, Venus, which has now pushed ahead of the Sun, forms a tense opposition with Mars. This stand off between the planetary lovers can impact all aspects of romance. On one hand, tensions can build walls between the most intimate lovers. On the other hand, it is this tension that can be released emotionally or physically to create the romantic magic that we seek.

August 28 - Pluto goes direct - repercussions from actions undertaken when Pluto was last stationary on March 23 are now in the foreground. After simmering just below the surface for the last few months, more information from that time should be explained if not exposed. The combination of Pluto stationary and Mars' closeness to the Earth can make this a dangerous time with terrorism, wars, violence, weather and earth related activity. Pisces also rules moving bodies of water including rivers, streams and brooks indicating more damage to or from those areas during this Mars retrograde. Hopefully, the country will get back on track in late September when both Mars and Mercury go direct. Take precautions with equipment and driving, as there is a greater likelihood of accidents.

August 28 - Mercury goes retrograde on August 28, 2003 at 9:42 AM EDT at 26 degrees 18 minutes of Virgo - until September 20. This represents a period when thoughts, communication and communication devices may be a bit out of whack. The good news is that by the end of September all this intense activity will lessen, with issues brought up, confronted and resolved. Try to maintain a sense of balance and peace within. Send your love, prayers and blessings to the Earth and all living things. Remember to go within and think before you act.

Throughout this period, Mercury will be transiting Virgo, the sign of order and procedures. Red tape hassles and snafus will probably increase in frequency especially when dealing with large bureaucracies such as governmental agencies. If you have to take care of any major paperwork, it would be a good idea to try to get it done before or after this Mercury retrograde.

Virgo also rules health and self-improvement. If not an emergency medical tests, procedures, surgery and check-ups should be put off until Mercury goes direct.

Celestial Timings - Retrogrades are like a Still Point where everything exists and does not exist at the same time. A planetary retrograde station or direct station opens an interdimensional portal where we have an opportunity to access infinity especially when we are willing to cultivate our awareness of the Still Point. This might occur through meditation, journeying, dancing, yoga, or any other way that provides conscious access to the Still Point that resides within us.

August 27 - Mars will be closer to Earth than it has been in more than 60,000 years. This is a once in a lifetime event that will not occur again for thousands of years. Mars is the fiery, red planet that in astrology represents strength, courage, action, direct energy, passion, knives, blood and war.

At the same time Mars will be conjoining the planet Uranus. Uranus is astrologically known for its rebellious, opinionated, excitable, disruptive, changeable, innovative energy. If you know any Aquarians just think of their basic traits. Now you see what I mean! The intensity of these two dynamic planets will have a strong effect on the earth and all that inhabit it. I believe we will witness matters around the world coming to a head that have been dormant for sometime. People might find themselves more tense, moody, excitable, angry, explosive and plain old - acting out. Change is in the air for sure! This period could bring to a head many political issues that are waiting to explode. We need to be aware of the Earth's eco system in terms of floods, earthquakes and fires. Mars and Uranus just love to stir things up, all to create a new beginning in a quick, dynamic way.

In addition, the planets Venus, Jupiter and the Sun will be in the sign of Virgo opposing Mars and Uranus. Think of it as two opponents facing one another. There is bound to be a confrontation that needs to be addressed. Let's take that thought to your day to day life, and the world at large. How can that apply? Go within and look at your intimate relationships, business connections and your day to day events. The answers are there.

  The Maiden Meets The Sea
A Heavenly Message from Virgo and Pisces in 2003
               ©Dikki-Jo Mullen, Astrologer

The Virgo New Moon on Wednesday, August 29, 2003 beacons
special attention for star gazers. It highlights a myriad
of very interesting cosmic patterns. The magic will keep
unfolding through the end of the week. The lunation takes
place at 1:26pm EDT at 4 degrees of Virgo. The Sabian Symbol
for this degree is " A group of children of different races
playing together." Human relationships, adjusting to other
cultures, integrating different people and life styles into
a harmonious daily activity flow are hinted at.

As evening shadows gather look directly overhead for a bright
red star. Light a fire toned candle and honor enthusiasm and
vitality, for Mars will make its perigee, or closest passage
in 60, 000 (yes sixty thousand) years toward the earth tonight.
With a mere 70x magnification the red planet will appear as
bright as the Moon ... but with a deep scarlet glow. Mars is a
little
uncomfortable and out of sorts in subtle Pisces.

The opposition to the Virgo placements enhances this need for
balance. At the same time Jupiter, the largest of the planets,
will enter Virgo, while Mercury will turn stationary retrograde
in Virgo and Pluto will turn stationary, prepared to go direct in
Sagittarius. The early degree Virgo Moon and Sun strongly aspect
Venus, Mars, Uranus and Jupiter too. In interpreting it all, a
graceful and virginal maiden laboriously stirring a celestial
cauldron of star studded soup comes to mind. The emphasis on
mutable signs promises shape shifting and an undercurrent of
hypertension. From moment to moment changes occur within the
private universe housed in each individual as well as in the
outer world.

August 27, 2003 promises to be a meaningful and powerful day.
Meditation groups can experience new levels of awakening and
awareness. Dream symbols should be heeded. They can be rich
with messages from spirits and angels. The line between life
and the after life will come under scrutiny. Death can show
some peace and blessings to those who are weary of life's
struggles. Solutions to problems must be given time and
consideration. Consequences can be extreme otherwise.
Breakthroughs in health care and important news linked to
health can shape the lives of many. Human destiny as a whole
can be impacted by world wide conditions. On an individual
level, it's important to project as much love and kindness
as can be generated in the face of odd combinations of
surprises and frustrations.

Pisces-born Osama bin Laden might be in the news. So will water.
Mars combines with Uranus in the sign of the Fish, both planets
underscore the importance and power of the seas. The healing
qualities of water, value of pure water as well as the
destructive
potential of floods and abnormal rainfall will all be a part of
our lives. A supportive trine from realistic Saturn, the
heavenly
timekeeper in the sign of the Water Crab lends to the universal
appreciation of elemental water archetypes in action. Go with
the flow, be fluid.

A comfy bubble bath or stroll along the shore would restore a
sense of personal harmony with the universe. Take time to focus
on the colorful, quiet world in a home aquarium or plan a
snorkel
excursion to a reef. Bid farewell to summer by watching the late
afternoon Sun brighten the colorful fish and plants. Arrange sea
shells or a water lily to provide a complimentary decor touch to
your altar or desk.

August 27: New Moon at 4 degrees of Virgo

We like to think that creativity comes in flashes of
inspiration and that all the elements then fall into place.
But art and beauty are not always effortless natural
processes -- hard work is required. During this new Moon,
creativity blossoms in very logistical and systematic ways.
You'll formulate new systems that will make expressing your
heart's desires and impulses much simpler. You'll be able
to see the root cause of your feelings, allowing you to
nurture an instinctive, beneficial cooperation between your
emotions and your actions. But Virgo can also be a stress-
causing influence, so watch out for impatience or
intolerance.

Those of you born under the mutable signs will be
especially influenced by this new Moon. Take note if your
birthday falls within the following ranges: Geminis born
between May 23-27, Virgos born between August 26-30,
Sagittarians born between November 25-29 and Pisceans
born between February 22-26.

August 27: Jupiter into Virgo

Jupiter, the planet of luck, changes signs once a year and
spends about a year in each sign. A benevolent influence,
this planet brings optimism and hope to our search for
answers -- and when it's teamed up with industrious,
pragmatic Virgo, those answers are within our reach. With
Virgo's organization and Jupiter's encouragement, growth
of the mind and the spirit can be exponential. Have you
been thinking about going back to school or taking a class?
There's no time like the present! Go pursue those
intellectual pursuits while the stars smile on them.

August 28: Pluto Direct

Pluto is retrograde nearly 40 percent of the year, but the
Plutonian influences really tend to flaunt themselves when
Pluto is stationary and about to go either retrograde or
direct -- as it will this Thursday. Issues that lie beneath
the surface might come up during this time. On a literal
level, you might have to deal with a leaky pipe or backed-up
drains; on an emotional level, old feelings might suddenly
surface, so be prepared.

Authority issues may grow unavoidable during this time
period as well. Try to hold your tongue around your boss,
lest you dig yourself into some sort of trouble. It's the
same idea with other authority figures -- if you're pulled
over for speeding, save the snappy comebacks and accept
the ticket.

Pluto is named for the Roman god of the underworld but
shouldn't be feared. Pluto rules the cycle of life, of which
death is only a small part. Rebirth and rejuvenation are also
important Plutonian aspects. This is a wonderful time for
personal archeology; Pluto governs the resurfacing of lost
items, so digging up history will be easier than usual. It's
also a good time to retreat for a while and freshen yourself
in body and in spirit.

August 28: Mercury Retrograde in Virgo

It's time for another Mercury retrograde! At some point,
every planet except the Sun and the Moon appears to be
moving backward from our perspective on Earth; when this
seemingly unnatural motion occurs, our lives tend to become
more challenging. Mercury rules communication and transportation,
so these two areas are most influenced during Mercury's
retrograde periods. Conversations might be more difficult,
as crossed signals and unclear meanings confuse normally
straightforward discussions. Still, with a little caution
and consideration, you'll get your point across.

Similarly, be prepared with a back-up plan when you're
traveling. If your flight gets canceled or your car won't
start, remain calm and make the best of it. Who knows -- you
might meet a fascinating new person in the airport lobby or
at the bus stop.

Be sure to also remember that this powerful energy can be
used in positive ways. Especially under Virgo's organized
influence, a Mercury retrograde is a very good time to take
care of general tidying, so take a look at your to-do list
for any activities that start with 're': renew, repair,
review, renegotiate, research, etcetera.

August 29: Jupiter Opposes Uranus

The planet of luck and the planet of revolution team up --
a very auspicious combination indeed! Historically, Jupiter
in opposition to Uranus is associated with scientific
discovery. On a personal level, it means it's a great time
to launch into the future with a good plan. You'll be seeing
things in new ways, and if you keep your mind and your eyes
open, whole worlds of possibility can become apparent to you.
Invent and innovate -- make use of the astrological sense of
unstoppable positive progress.

September 10: Harvest Full Moon at 17 Degrees Virgo/Pisces

This week, we're treated to a special celestial beauty that
foreshadows fall's arrival. The harvest moon is so named
because it served as a guide to farmers; as the full Moon
closest to the autumnal equinox, it signaled that it was time
to reap what had been sown throughout the growing season. Its
bright glow gave a few extra hours of light, allowing harvesters
to work through the night and complete the harvest. The timing
of the harvest Moon varies from year to year -- it usually
occurs in September, but can sometimes crest in October.
Its brilliant presence reminds us that it's time for a new
season -- and perhaps for some changes in our lives as well.

Since the full Moon is passing through Pisces, a sign
ruled by Neptune, expect subconscious revelations. You might
rediscover secrets you've hidden from yourself and find new
ways to make your dreams come true. Your deepest desires
become a priority during this lunar phase, and you've got
astrological license to think big. You hold a key to many
personal doors right now -- listen to your instincts.

Those of you born under the mutable signs will be especially
influenced by this full Moon. Take note if your birthday falls
within the following ranges: Geminis born between June 6-10,
Virgos born between September 8-12, Sagittarians born between
December 7-11 and Pisceans born between March 6-10.

General Daily Overview
The Moon enters practical Virgo at 6:26 am EDT, followed by the New Moon at 1:25 pm EDT. This New Moon is especially propitious, for it joins Jupiter, who has also just entered Virgo after being in Leo for a whole year. This slow-moving shift means less showy times. We become more concerned with learning what is right instead of acting first and regretting it afterward.
We each can consciously make a wish about what we want in the months ahead. If we visualize our future with intent, we just may get what we ask for. :) 8)

The Moon is in analytical Virgo all day today, which usually is a relatively quiet time for our feelings. But Virgo’s key planet, Mercury, apparently stops in his tracks to begin his 22-day retrograde phase where all aspects of communication and travel can be affected, especially if we haven’t fully prepared. Those things which now fall apart can be reminders that we need to do something over again. And, with the Sun opposing Mars, we can expect conflict as sloppy thinking or incomplete planning creates problems.

The Moon enters intellectually balanced Libra at 9:40 am EDT, encouraging us to find a middle path through whatever extremes are present in our lives. And with Pluto turning direct, we can expect extreme positions to be taken. Additionally, Jupiter is moving into opposition with electric Uranus. Extraordinary opportunities are presenting themselves, but it can take radical thinking to make the most of the potentially dynamic circumstances. Things may not be as immediate as they seem.

Virgo New Moon
8/27/2003 12:26 pm EST
04 Degrees of Virgo 02’

This Virgo New Moon is about reaping the fruit and collecting the harvest of the seeds that have been germinating. For the last several months since the Aries New Moon or the beginning of the year’s natural cycle, many plans have been taking down some interesting journeys. The time to see some of these plans play out is now.

Virgo is such an analytical sign that it’s no wonder we spend more time focused on researching and the need to know; the ultimate quest for understanding everything that is potential, and even what is unclear, especially what gets triggered on the emotional and in the unconscious. On a collective level, we may find ourselves more open to assisting others and on a personal level needing to look at health overall.

Although Mercury is technically the ruler for Virgo, the house that it governs is representative health and service to others and aligns with the energy of Chiron, the Wounded Healer; the God of medicine was wounded by one of his own arrows and because of his immortality. Chiron suffered immensely while continuing to bless others with his healing gifts.

On a core level, perhaps it is time to look at how we serve others, versus how we remain centered on our own wellbeing; by taking care of ourselves, we best serve those we love through the embodiment of living out sacred truths. Know that we can’t change or control others in order to serve our own personal agenda. During this cycle, try to approach a position that asks us to remain in acceptance mode. Remain connected to knowledge without getting too attached to how a situation should look, or with what others are doing. We cannot grasp the concepts behind unconditional love before we fully embrace the value of unconditional accepting situations, interactions with others as well as ourselves.

Acceptance is receiving. As your divine right as a child of God, reap the fruits of all that Spirit wishes to offer. Receive your abundance with grace and reverence. There is no place for guilt in manifesting as Virgo, the virgin, is ripe to share her offering. Virgo desires to give to you everything you are willing to open and receive. If you doubt your value, keep in mind… since this is an earth sign, worth is reflected through manifestation in poverty and prosperity consciousness; the mirrored reality may present a picture of what is lacking, rather than what is ripe.

The Keyword for the Virgo New Moon is ‘Accountability.’ Own your thoughts, feelings, judgments, fears, reactions, and most of all, your happiness and joy. Be down to Earth in relating to others may only mean that expressions come from a more ‘realistic’ approach. We may see the tendency to see the shadow borderline towards obsessing on a problem to solve it. Issues of control, worry, and analyzing, are some of the issues that may crop up during this Virgo cycle. Since Virgo is an earth sign, shadows may also be shown through self-worth issues.

The Sabian Symbol for the Virgo New Moon is 5 degrees of Virgo. The definition reads “IRISHMAN DREAMS OF ‘LITTLE PEOPLE’ BENEATH A TREE; Constructive imagination as it reveals unconscious realms of being. Creative fantasy. Contact with inner life energies.” Utilize both aspects of the right and left brain in processing. As Creativity is applied to the mental side of defining, imagine how the results can take on a whole new color by ‘seeing it so!’ Get in touch with your kaleidoscope and lavishly parade all of the magnificence that you truly are!

Jupiter Changes Signs into Virgo
8/27/03 4:25 am EST

Jupiter’s expansiveness moves into a new personification while entering Virgo. Down to earth attitudes are not usually thought of when dealing with Jupiter’s outgoing nature, so this transit can definitely influence things to cool down over the next several months. We may want to get details and plans grounded before moving onto new possibilities, which can be a great benefit to accomplishing any new project. With this change occurring during the New Moon phase, this energy lends itself to the entire cycle so take advantage of the ability to soar by building steps that offer safety and security and are emotionally calming and nurturing to Jupiter’s normally frenetic and zealous energy.

Virgo’s qualities appear in health, service, details, foresight, planning, and engineering, so whatever is initiated during this transit produces outer manifestations that can be very solid indeed. When you move beyond yourself during this Jupiter transit, feel good in knowing that there is firm ground below keeping you very well protected.

Mercury Stations Retrograde
8/28/03 8:36 am EST
27 Degrees of Virgo

When we hear about Mercury going retrograde, most people experience this shift with caution. Since Mercury rules all forms of communication, blueprints and plans, contracts, short travel, cars, computers, the internet, siblings, this time can shed some light on growth and expansion by pointing out just where the bugs in the system are. With Mercury shifting into reverse in Virgo, we can either move into an observer role, or there may be a tendency to get caught up in the victim, guilt, and blame aspects of our personalities. Perhaps it is time to surrender something that is no longer serving your best and highest. Virgo is an earth sign that over structures the manifestation, therefore, in relation to health and wellbeing, release old issues of guilt.

Spend this time going within to look at your health on all planes. See fitness and strength as a precious commodity to invest in this month. Align energy with the flow of things. Avoid the urge to control. Worrying is also a well-known Virgo trait, but is a way of planning your future. Keep thoughts positive by looking at things from the bigger picture role; can you see patterns or tendencies to react in situations that may just be your peephole into the divine mystery.

The Sabian Symbol for the 27 degrees of Virgo is “ELDERLY LADIES DRINKING AFTERNOON TEA IN A WEATHLY HOME; Preservation of social and cultural values. Inward, unobtrusive superiority, or else pure smugness. Prestige of position.” Abundance and prosperity are at hand. With accountability, humility can offer these blessings the touch necessary in really achieving fulfillment and finding a greater meaning of life. All systems are Go! Blocks and obstacles are cleared away so the mind’s eye picture can offer a great deal of clarity. Be clear to release any sense of blame or guilt and the riches of these life lessons can prove invaluable.

August 28th, the Sun and Mars RX go head to head early afternoon, maybe wanting to move us forward, even if there is a sense of wanting to hold back. Stay aligned with your source and the actions that may be building up stamina can provide a great source of motivation in getting things accomplished. Perhaps by taking small steps while Mars is retrograde can bring achievement on the whole, without moving too far ahead of yourself and some essential basics. More can be accomplished as we allow _expression to be free to mimic what the soul seeks to project outwardly. Come from a position of responding, rather than from a more explosive tendency seen in reactions.

Pluto Stations Direct
8/28/03 4:41 pm EST
18 Degrees of Sagittarius

The big dog Pluto comes out to play again after sending us in for time out to check in with feelings and our personal will or agendas. This energy has served to allow for more focus on what is valuable, but also having us look at what the costs have been, which could have only been measured by integrity and happiness, which also means we have not been able to avoid personal truths.

As Pluto continues to move through the sign of Sagittarius, we seek out means and understanding through honor and morals, hoping to score big on those Universal SAT’s so we can graduate from Earth school. Karmic lessons, personal power, issues surrounding betrayal and defeat, surrender, as well as understanding and managing personal power have been some well served lessons during this transit. With Pluto’s influence in Sag, we have been asked to honor our own sacred truths. With Pluto moving forward again, have regard for the truths revealed and proudly demonstrate all that you have learned you are, as well as are not.

The Sabian Symbol for the 18 degrees of Sagittarius is “ON A HOT BEACH CHILDREN PLAY, PROTECTED BY SUNBONNETS; The protective agency which safeguards the free behavior of individuals. Vivifying contact with collective life-energies.” This phase points to the freedom and liberation from self-imposed prisons that may be limiting opportunities. Often fear can creep into awareness and state that everything is all for the best good. Sometimes there is a limit as to how much we must endure, especially if situations are unstable or unhealthy and continue to cost precious emotionally, spiritually, mentally, as well as physical energy; any choice rooted in the misconception of lack often is based from attachments to memories that remain unhealed; root firmly in who you are in the present moment.

August 29th, Jupiter and Uranus RX butt heads late in the evening; both can encourage transformation. Jupiter’s influence early in Virgo may be asking us to ground, so that the changes Uranus ushers in come from a divine place of will combined with the beauty behind Pisces’ unconditional and mystical energy. We may be in for a few surprises as the illusions become lucid and the image in the mirror becomes crystal clear.

Many Blessings,

The Moon in watery Scorpio emphasizes the realm of feelings. As the Moon moves through Scorpio now, it forms harmonious aspects with the Sun, Saturn, Venus and Chiron, adding easy background energy to the day. On the forefront, Venus, the planet of love, forms a comfortable trine with Chiron, the Wounded Healer. Since Chiron symbolizes life’s pains that cannot be cured, this beautiful trine to Venus gives us an opportunity to salve our emotional aches in the soothing grace of love and sensuality. Leave your worries behind. Enjoy what you can.

There’s a bittersweet nostalgia permeating the psyche now that can propel us into action when the Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:31 pm EDT. This shift can be noticeable as our spirits lift us out of the Scorpionic depths where they have been suspended now for a few days. It feels like the clouds have dissipated and our vision becomes unimpeded. We can see as far as we can imagine. But as the Moon squares Mars, Jupiter and Uranus, tensions can erupt as a reminder that we’ve lost our focus.

The Moon is in Sagittarius all day, symbolizing our need to grow beyond our current situations and circumstances. This outgoing and optimistic Moon is tempered today by a supportive sextile aspect between the Sun and restrictive Saturn. If we work with this energy, we know what is too much and we effectively can temper our aspirations. The problem is, we have an irritating quincunx aspect between the Sun and illusive Neptune, so it may be difficult to find balance between too much and not enough.

General Daily Overview

The Moon is in serious Capricorn today, which can give us a desire to stabilize those things which have been in flux. Venus, the love planet, forms a tense square aspect with Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld. Our sexual urgings are stronger than usual and can drive relationship issues. Power struggles over love and money can demand our attention. With conscious motivation, deeply-rooted problems can come to the surface, where solutions can be found. The danger is to acquiesce to our fears and try to bury our feelings.

The Moon remains in airy Aquarius all day, encouraging us to use our thoughts rather than our feelings as a basis for reality. Interestingly, Mercury, the planet of thought, aligns today with Venus, the planet of love. This conjunction happens in the sign of Virgo, which is Mercury’s own sign. Since Mercury is still in its retrograde phase, this is a day of powerful possibilities in the mental realms, and can produce positive results as long as we don’t try to avoid the obvious feedback we now get concerning money and love.

The Moon enters the watery domain of Pisces at 4:07 am EDT, symbolizing our need to reflect upon those feelings that pull us into the larger sea of humanity. The Pisces Moon is aware that individuality is part of the great illusion. We Fish are all swimming in the same cosmic soup. We are all made of the same stuff. As the Moon moves through the first degrees of Pisces, it conjuncts both electric Uranus and feisty Mars and then opposes expansive Jupiter. We could all learn by watching how our feelings are pushed and pulled now by the circumstances of our lives.

Sep 10, Wednesday. In this Pisces Full Moon window the Sun (17Virgo17) and Moon (17 Pisces17) squares Pluto (17Sagittarius17) in a last quarter square just seven hours before the exact Pisces Full Moon (17Pisces34) occurring at 9:36 am PDT. This further intensifies the potential shadow elements of this Full Moon window. This last quarter square of Sun and Pluto marks the acceleration of Pluto in its movement through the sky from the Earth’s perspective. We can see this when we note that Pluto stationed direct Aug 28 at 17Sagittarius14 moving only three minutes in the last two weeks. Pluto now picks up speed and the Sun’s relationship to Pluto illuminates the shadow including the fears, judgments, anger, rage, hurt, and also the forgotten or denied skills and abilities we may carry. Energizing and embracing the power of forgiveness while also embracing the truth of our being helps to transform these shadowed elements into our greatest gifts bringing to light their wealth as the medicine we carry. However, often when repressed shadow is coming forth it can be very messy and traumatic. It requires a great deal of courage and willingness to surrender to the process, dying to what needs to die and forgiving ourselves and others so we can be cleansed and released from emotions that ultimately are harmful and destructive. This intense process may play out on the world stage through dramatic world events. Remembering to be with whatever is happening in a place of acceptance and love when possible will help to facilitate the transformational changes seeking expression. Another important factor playing out during this Full Moon is the conjunction of Mercury and the Sun (17Virgo56) marking the beginning of a new synodic Mercury cycle. This means Mercury is in the underworld, in the place of Shamanic Initiation potentially bringing forth any repressed shadow elements in the realm of communication. Venus (24 Virgo) is also still near the Sun in her underworld journey adding yet another intensifying factor. All of this emphasizes the mysteries of Sacred Time as experienced through the Virgo domain. It might be helpful to remember that the Pisces mysteries are linked with our ability to dream our dreams into being. We are only limited by our imagination and beliefs and unresolved shadow. Anything we can conceive, dream, imagine and believe, is possible to achieve and experience especially once all the shadow elements standing in the way are cleared.

Today’s Full Moon at 12:37 pm EDT in imaginative Pisces draws us into the depths and heights of our own fantasies. This Pisces Full Moon isn’t all light and easy, however, as the Sun and Moon tensely square Pluto. This can shine the light of our consciousness into the darkest places, bringing intense fears out into the open. Meanwhile, retrograde Mercury reaches a halfway point in the cycle as it comes between the Earth and the Sun. Communication is emphasized, yet we might find it difficult to push into new ground.

The Moon finishes up her business in compassionate Pisces before entering action-oriented Aries at 12:09 pm EDT. This can represent a time to initiate projects, push into new emotional ground and to take risks. Also today, we have Mercury the Messenger planet creating a tense square aspect with deep, dark Pluto. We can say things that are oftentimes left unsaid. We push our thoughts into hidden realms as we attempt to bring things up to the surface that can have impact on our intimate relationships.

The Moon is in Aries, encouraging us to have enthusiasm for those things we love. We are inclined to get excited enough to start things, yet we have to slow ourselves down enough to remember to complete what we initiate. The Moon forms a tense square aspect with restrictive Saturn at 10:27 am EDT. This can put obstacles in front of us so that we do take the time to do things right. Additionally, Venus creates a minor stressful aspect with Neptune, making it difficult for us to clearly see what we really want.

The Moon is in fiery Aries, reflecting our need to initiate action—but only until 10:50 pm EDT, when it enters earthy Taurus. We will feel the shift either late in the evening or when we wake up tomorrow, but either way things should slow down to a manageable pace. Meanwhile, Venus forms an illuminating aspect with Mars, adding a fateful twist to romantic relationships. We may feel a bit out of sorts as we try to keep in touch with our feelings, even if they don’t appear to bring us closer to what we want.

Even with the Moon in mentally active Gemini, it’s a relatively quiet day up there in the cosmos. The Gemini moon does, however, increase our mental activity. It also puts emphasis on Gemini’s key planet, Mercury, who has been in his retrograde phase since August 28th. And although the trickster planet doesn’t start his forward engines again for another couple of days, we are now in that frustrating place where we can see how much we didn’t get completed in the past few weeks. Tie up those loose ends, for we’ll soon be pushing into new ground.

The Moon enters the watery domain of Cancer the Crab just six minutes after midnight EDT. The Moon is fully at home in Cancer, for this is her own sign. The Crab is comfortable within the protection of its hard outer shell. We feel strongly, but do not always express what we feel, for security can be threatened by emotional vulnerability. And we can be quite vulnerable now as Venus forms a magical quintile aspect with intense Pluto. Attractions can run deep, yet we move slowly and unsteadily toward the object of our sensual desire.

This Moon, coupled with Mercury’s turn toward direct motion continues the shift we are now seeing on the cosmic front. Additionally, Mercury is now creating a harmonious trine aspect with Chiron, the Wounded Healer. Mercury is about all forms of communication. Talking about it can be a catalyst to future healing.

As the Sun enters Libra, this first day of the new astrological month also marks the beginning of autumn (or spring for our friends down under the equator). Wherever you are on earth, day and night are equal lengths today. For a moment in time, the Scales of Libra are in perfect balance. Libra is an air sign; we move into the mental realms, seeking harmony through relationships. But with the Sun forming an irritating aspect with freedom-loving Uranus and feisty Mars, we may struggle with the “to relate or not to relate” question.

The Moon remains in deep, mysterious Scorpio until 8:57 pm EDT, when it enters a lighter and more easy-going Sagittarius. But this lunar shift is foreshadowed as Venus forms a supportive sextile to Pluto earlier in the day. Although Pluto isn’t usually associated with light-hearted things, when the planet of love and money sends her sweet energy Pluto’s way, we can be treated to a rare glimpse of the lighter side of the dark side. Even the terrifying darkness can become more magical and beautiful under the influence of Venus.

General Daily Overview The first day of this new month finds the Moon in Sagittarius, encouraging us to explore our belief systems and to think about life from a larger perspective. Sagittarius is one of those signs that can sound too good to be true, but this is when we need to remind ourselves that the signs are neither good nor bad. One trap associated with the Sagittarius Moon is our tendency to make light of heavy things. Optimism can certainly be healthy, but some situations demand a more realistic approach.

Week of Oct 9 - 16 This week features the Aries Harvest Full Moon (Oct 10) symbolizing the fulfillment, or fruition, of the seeds planted at the New Moon of some earlier cycle. The elements of the hero/ine’s quest as described by Joseph Campbell in his book Hero With A Thousand Faces assists in deepening our understanding of ways to attune to the essence of the Moon Phases. The New Moon phase is similar to the Call To Adventure alerting the Hero/ine that an initiatory journey is about to take place. The First Quarter Moon phase is similar to the crossing of the threshold into the zone of magnified power where the journey or initiation takes place. The Full Moon Phase relates to the Mystical Marriage or Apotheosis where the goal of the journey is achieved. Apotheosis is defined by Webster’s as the: Exaltation to divine rank or stature; deification. This is the phase in the cycle where we have an opportunity to remember and experience our divinity. The Moon begins to wane this week representing the integration and dissemination of the gifts received at the Full Moon. The annual Aries Full Moon illuminates what we stand for, and what we choose to defend or protect for the benefit of the cosmic order of life. This full Moon asks what level of action are we willing to engage that supports the complete fulfillment of that commitment?

Oct 9, Thursday. Venus moves into Scorpio today where she remains until Nov 2 activating the mysteries of death and rebirth and the aspect of the Goddess (Kali, Hecate, Pele, Cerridwen, the Cretan Snake Goddess, etc.) that destroys what is necessary and timely, making room for something new to birth, acting from compassion, love and wisdom in alignment with the natural cycles and rhythms of life. Last Nov 7 Venus rose as a Morning Star to begin a new 584-day cycle exploring and integrating the Scorpio archetype of the Shaman Sorceress into the collective feminine psyche of humanity. The Sorceress/Witch is not evil or bad, but rather she knows how to connect with her own eternal divine source to bring spirit into matter for the purpose of serving divine will in ways that are passionately ecstatic and alive. This archetype has been largely repressed at least as far back as the witch burnings when many were accused of evil doings (mostly women and some men) because they stood strong in the power of who they were. In order to survive, Scorpio became a secretive archetype, hiding its magic and power even though that was not the original essence of the Scorpio mysteries. It is time the power and potency of this energy be recognized, accepted for its gifts and utilized in ways that support the fulfillment of divine will. Remembering the Scorpio mantra “I will, my will, by thy will” helps to further empower these mysteries in finding healthy expression in this dimension. Tonight marks the fullest rise of the Moon reaching the exact Full Moon just after mid-night Pacific Time.

Oct 17, Friday. Mercury (18 Libra) sextiles Pluto (18 Sag) furthering the process begun in August of deepening the mental experience of who we are in relationship to the over pattern of life. This timing gives us clues about the level of empowerment now expressing through us especially in our ability to clearly communicating more of who we truly are. These energies are continuing to integrate more deeply as we approach the Mercury Pluto conjunction (19 Sag) on Nov 24. Venus (10 Scorpio) squares Neptune (10 Aquarius) cautioning the Sorceress Shaman to be aware of any illusions she might be at the effect of and trusting her deepest gut instincts even if they don’t make logical sense. The Moon conjuncts Saturn today and the Moon is rising about a half hour after Saturn who is rising around 10:35 pm.

New Moon in Scorpio
Saturday, October 25, 2003
6:50am PDT
1º 41'

Sometimes referred to as Lunar Samhain, the New Moon in Scorpio is a night when the veil is thin between the living and the spirit world. Especially this year, with Mercury (the communicator) at 1º Scorpio 46', conjunct Sun and Moon, great insights can be gained on this night through contact with spirit teachers: be they animal, mineral, angelic, or ancestral. Open your mind to the wisdom that flows from the other side. You may even find you have a new set of cosmic helpers after this New Moon ritual! Scorpio is the sign that seeks deep truth in all things. The New Moon in Scorpio is the night to acknowledge the ways this questioning process manifests in your life.

This is the most serious New Moon of the year. This is the night of truth and dare. Dare to be honest and the rewards of this ritual will come back tenfold. I think it is safe to say that we are living in a very Scorpionic time, one becoming increasingly characterized by constant fear and uncertainty. I admit, on some level Americans were just plain naïve, thinking we could forever shield ourselves from the terror that has plagued much of the rest of the world. But let's be honest, decades of producing and selling weapons all over the world has finally caught up with America, and these very same weapons are now being sold to the highest bidder. Mercury in Scorpio marks a time of opening the mind to the painful truth about our country and ourselves. The trine from the Moon/Sun/Mercury conjunction to Mars in Pisces could expose the plutonic dark lies of the warmongers so that the peacemakers can rise up and lead us forward. The alternative Mideast peace initiative is a great example of this kind of effort. May it be successful!

So this is the New Moon to honestly reflect upon the self. This will be made easier by Mercury (the mind) and Venus (the heart) in Scorpio (the truthteller). Use a mirror in your ritual. Take a long look at yourself; go all the way inside your skin, inside your mind, inside your heart. Are you doing and saying things that create fear, alienation, dissatisfaction, and despair in others? What thoughts and actions have you put energy into that are now coming back to haunt you? Are you supporting people that create pain and suffering for you and for others? Are you too afraid to deal with them properly or let them go all together? Look at your fear, where it comes from, what makes it worse and what eases it. This is the optimal night to face your fear head on and make a commitment to letting go of unhealthy and tortuous relationships, jobs, behavior, and habits. A New Moon in Scorpio shows you the truth, shows you your vulnerabilities, and your powerlessness. But it also gives you the strength to let go of destructive behavior patterns, make changes, and learn to be powerful in a positive life-supporting way.

Use your ritual to journey to the depths of your soul. And don't think this will be some kind of new-agey joyride! If you are real with yourself and dive deep into the core of your unconscious, this will be challenging and scary. If you brave the murky depths you will arrive at that sacred place beyond fear, pain and illusion. There are many ways to do this, but on a New Moon in Scorpio it is best to work in the dark. Indigenous people use drums and ritual dance to induce a transpersonal state of consciousness. You can try this with a partner who drums while you journey, or use recorded shamanic drumming. Some people gaze into a scrying mirror or a bowl of water to induce a trancelike state. For some visualization or meditation is enough. There are many plants that can alter or heighten your awareness. Use them with knowledge and respect. This is not recreation. More than ever, it is all about intention on this New Moon

The Scorpio New Moon is a night to strip yourself bare and release your pretensions. Relinquish all you are, all you have, and all you wish to be. Let go of your attachment to suffering: pain, violence, resentment, hatred, judgments, and indecisiveness. This is the night to fearlessly take responsibility for your own condition and the condition of your loved ones. When it comes down to it we always have some modicum of control over our circumstances. Even in our darkest hour, it is up to us to make change where we can, and where we can't, rise to the occasion and make the best of a bad situation. Scorpio forces us to recognize our relative insignificance in the big scheme of things, but it demands that we take responsibility for the tremendous impact we have on what happens in the world. This is the true meaning of power. Scorpio knows it has the power to change, though it is the improper use of this power that often becomes problematic. There are many great teachers of power to be found in the plant, animal, and spirit worlds. Seek their wisdom and their healing energy in your ritual. They will be your guides as you peel back the layers of fear and false pretense to arrive at the stark naked truths of your life.

But please don't leave yourself hanging in the dark depths! Scorpio rules death and rebirth and New Moons are always a time of new beginnings. Active rebirth from the womb of wisdom is a pivotal part of this ritual; you are not done until this has been completed. It is important to rest after your journey within. Calm and soothe yourself with a hot bath, sit in front of a fire and have a light snack. Use this time to reflect on the truths and the lessons you were shown. When you are rested, go back to your ritual area and give yourself time to document your journey. If you need to, call back your spirit guides to help you in this process. Write down or create a visual representation of the wisdom you received and clearly delineate newly conceived goals or action plans. Scorpio empowers projects and goals that require real commitment to your truth, and as you well know, these are the hardest to achieve.

A word on war: while you are in the Spirit world, do your best to enlist support from the "other side" to bring peace to this world. We need all the help we can get and we need it now, right now. Do your part; you have the power within you!

General Daily Overview
The Moon is in fiery Sagittarius, symbolizing our need to reach beyond our immediate surroundings. Sagittarius is represented by the Centaur--half man and half horse. The human part is aiming an arrow toward the sky. We each have a Centaur within us. It is that part of us which seeks to overcome our animal nature, our basic instincts. We each have beliefs that, like the archer’s arrow, aim upward toward the infinite and boundless sky. It is these beliefs that propel us into our own future and lift us beyond our self-imposed limitations.

...............................................................................................

Oct 28, Tuesday. The waxing Sag Moon conjuncts Pluto this morning revealing the shadow issues around what we perceive and believe is the truth. The external truth is always changing as our perception changes. What we perceive as truth today may not be true for us tomorrow. Looking deeply in this window we have an opportunity to discover an ever-deepening meaning behind the old saying “The truth shall set you free.” If we have wielded the “sword of truth” with our heart’s based in love, integrity and pure intention, then we have the proper tool for cutting through the illusions that bind us to a limited reality.

The Moon is in practical Capricorn today. We can learn lessons about integrity and patience. The problem is that the Sun forms a harmonious trine with feisty Mars, encouraging us to be anything but patient. We feel that doing anything now is better than doing nothing at all. Additionally, with Mercury the Communicator forming a tense square with slippery Neptune, we can me misunderstood--or misunderstand others. Both of these powerful aspects can challenge our stability…yet the Capricorn Moon needs to feel stable. :P ;D

The Moon is in Pisces today, emphasizing our need to fantasize. We explore the riches of our own imagination, which can be a positive thing from the point of view of creative spirituality and artistic expression. But it can also be negatively experienced, as we fall into our own fantasies to escape the dreary or sometimes difficult world of our outer experiences. Additionally, Neptune--the key planet of Pisces--is being tensely squared now by the Sun, adding to the possibility of escapist tendencies.

*******************************************************

Nov 3, Monday The waxing Moon in Pisces conjuncts Mars (8 Pisces) marking the first “labor of Mars” in his new quest that began Aug 28, 2003. This is like the “road of tests and trials” as described by Joseph Campbell in The Hero With a Thousand Faces. The Labors of Hercules is one example of ancient myth referring to this type of process. Investigating one version of the first Labor of Hercules may inspire your own connection with this timing.

Some versions of the myth say that in the first Labor Hercules is sent to kill the Nemean Lion who was devouring the people of Corinth. The lion could not be killed by any arrows because his hide was impenetrable. Hercules eventually kills the lion with his bare hands and then wears the lion’s hide becoming invulnerable to any weapons of the day. One way to view this labor is to see that it symbolizes the encounter with the raging and devouring aspect of self that has forgotten its divinity. In this labor the hero, Hercules, wrestles with this aspect of self and in the process discovers his true self or divine self that is invulnerable. It is said Hera then honored the Lion by placing it as a constellation in the sky where it now shines to inspire us all to remember and know, as well as, to claim and to fully live our divinity. http://www.winshop.com.au/annew/cons0.htm

It’s the first day of a new astrological month, with the Sun entering optimistic and inspirational Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the sign of the centaur--half man and half horse. The human archer is holding a bow with the arrow aimed at the sky. This time of year, we think about overcoming our animal instincts and aim our thoughts toward the heavenly and cosmic. Additionally, Mercury the mental planet is forming a tense and creative square aspect with philosophical Jupiter, placing emphasis on self-righteousness and clashing belief systems.

Uranus In Pisces - The Veil Is Lifting
By Govinda

Uranus will transit the sign of Pisces from March 10th, 2003 through
March 12th, 2011. Uranus brings energies that stimulate and support the
evolution of the Collective Consciousness and Humanity. It brings
inspiration and the unexpected, unusual, unconventional and radical
events that catalyze change. Uranian energies always act to stimulate
the evolution of consciousness.

Uranian experiences break through the boundaries of our conceptual
reality and transform our lives. These catalytic experiences often come
when you least expect them.
Pisces energies are deep feeling, compassionate, visionary, psychic,
mystical, spiritual and subtle. Pisces energies bring awareness of new
possibilities and are connected with our unconscious emotions. The
higher octave of Pisces is Divine Compassion, which streams from the
Divine Feminine energies of the Universe. When Humanity realizes and
expresses the Divine Feminine we will heal our world. Uranus in Pisces
will link the Collective Consciousness of Humanity with these sensitive,
feminine and mystical energies.

Over the past seven years Uranus has been in Aquarius, giving birth to
the Information Age. It brought forth a revolution in communication,
including global communication through the Internet, mobile phones and
digital technologies. We are deluged with data! While we were being
distracted with all the mental processing of knowledge, our unconscious,
emotional nature was ignored, and our emotions were repressed. Uranus in
Pisces increases the awareness of our unconscious realms. This is a
cycle of emerging feelings that will likely bring intense, unpredictable
waves of emotional upheavals in our lives! However, humans are also more
likely to develop meaningful, emotional and spiritual connections with
each other during Uranus in Pisces.

Uranus and Neptune in Mutual Reception
Probably the most significant and profound effect of the Uranus in
Pisces cycle will be the combined impact of this cycle with the Neptune
in Aquarius cycle. Uranus and Neptune are in a Mutual Reception a rare
combination where Uranus is in the sign (Pisces) that Neptune rules
while Neptune is simultaneously in the sign (Aquarius) that Uranus
rules. This creates an infinity figure 8 flow of cosmic energies from

Uranus to the constellation Pisces, to Neptune, to Aquarius and back to
Uranus. Since both of these planets give access to the mystical
dimensions, the spiritual impact on the collective consciousness of
humanity will be profound.

A Spiritual Revolution
The veil between the physical and spiritual dimension is dissolving.
Ordinary people will have direct, profound, personal spiritual
experiences and revelations. There will be major breakthroughs in
spirituality for Humanity.
Spirit will liberate itself from limited beliefs, causing many people to
reject and rebel against traditional religions. Spiritual organizations
and churches will be forced to change their doctrines in order to
satisfy the natural evolution of consciousness of their members.
Limiting doctrines that call for devotional dependence on the church and
religious leaders will be replaced by doctrines that honor the
individuals and their personal connections with God. Churches will
naturally evolve from doctrine orientation to individuals sharing their
personal spiritual experiences.
Virtually every human being on Earth will have mystical experiences
including empathic and clairvoyant awareness, telepathic communications,
past life flashbacks and sensing what others (humans and animals) are
feeling and thinking. These experiences will cause most humans confusion
and/or denial.

Some may feel as though they are losing their sanity, or, perhaps they
may believe that demonic forces possess them. As people become more
sensitive and open to their deep emotional and mystical energies, many
will turn to drugs and alcohol to dull their senses and escape from
their emotional pain. It is important to stay focused on positive and
ascending thoughts. It is good to practice formal meditation - one that
connects you with the Divine Source within you - daily. This will help
you to attract and create positive and beneficial experiences with the
spirit realms.

It is not good to be too analytical during this time. The logical mind
will not be able to comprehend these psychic experiences. Get together
with other like-minded, spiritual people and groups to get the support
you need. Also, spiritual revelations happen when two or more are
gathered in the name of Spiritual Truth and Love.

The boundaries between people, factions, religions and countries will
begin to dissolve. As people become increasingly aware of the feelings,
thoughts and emotions of others, the belief in separation from one
another will break down. This may feel uncomfortable and confusing at
first, but will naturally lead to a greater willingness to know and
accept one another, and, eventually, to sympathy and compassion for each
other.

As the psyche opens and unconscious emotions become conscious, many
people will seek wise counsel. This will benefit those who are having
intense emotions coming up and those having spiritual/psychic
experiences. Emotional and spiritual counselors and healers will be in
great demand!
Science Meets Spirituality

New drugs will be developed that will offer new hope for healing
previously incurable conditions, but the side affects may be
detrimental. Inspirations for new healing modalities will lead to the
development of powerful, effective, unconventional healing methods.
These will include subtle healing modalities involving light, sound,
breath, water, visualization, vibrational and spiritual healing.

Powerful spiritual healers will be acknowledged and become more accepted
by the masses.
Computer / Human Psyche Interfacings
Technologies will expand to include mind, body and computer infusion.
Computers will be able to receive and interpret mental impulses, and
redesign their patterns to improve the humans ability to create the
reality he/she truly desires. Virtual Reality programs for healing
mental and emotional disorders will be designed and made available to
the public. Some of these will be a kind of lucid dream therapy.

Instruments of communication with the spirit realms will be developed
and perfected. These may include computer and etheric realm interfacing.

Dream Wisdom
We may be inundated with spiritual truth and healing wisdom, including
images and messages from the spiritual realms through our dreams.
Solutions to major problems may come through messages from Divine guides
while we dream. It would be good to keep a dream journal by your bed and
write in it when these dreams occur.

New Art Forms
There will emerge new genres of music, poetry, photography and other
arts that refer to and illuminate the Oneness of all creation. Unique
new colors, textures, modalities and combinations will catalyze higher
awareness and transport those who experience these art forms to another
place and time. Motion pictures will undergo major transformations as a
result of advances in visual and sound reproduction technologies.

Pollution Solutions
Toxins in the water, food and air will likely become a greater threat to
health. New technologies for neutralizing pollution will be developed
and made available. New forms of inexpensive, sustainable, non-polluting
sources of energy will be invented and become available to the public.
The technologies, sciences and spiritual abilities of ancient and
advanced civilizations - e.g. Atlantis (a Uranian culture) and
Lemuria (a Neptunian culture) - will be remembered and developed.
These instructions may come through psychic mediums, psychic scientists,
visionaries and Extra Terrestrials. Important and helpful individual and
mass communications from Extra Terrestrials are very likely. This
information will teach us ways to heal our environment and our
relationships with each other. They will teach us technologies for
cleaning up our oceans, lakes, streams, air and Earth.

Collective Thinking Creates Our World
Problems with air pollution and the ozone layer will cause major changes
in the weather. The melting of icecaps will likely cause the flooding of
many islands and coastal areas throughout the world. High winds,
hurricanes and tornados will become more frequent and show up in
unexpected places. The combined thoughts of the Collective Consciousness
of Humanity are creating our world reality, including the weather and
the earth changes. If we can collectively shift our thinking from
fear-based thinking to love, trust and faith in goodness, we can change
everything. It is our faith that bridges us with the power of Creation.

Ascension Is A Choice
It is our responsibility to consciously choose to evolve. To do this is
to live in integrity. Living in integrity is behaving as though we are
an integral part of All That Is. As we develop integrity, we support our
personal ascension and the ascension of the Collective Consciousness.
Ascension is To rise above limited ways of thinking and creating
reality.

When we choose praise, gratitude and love as our way of life, we ascend.
When we express unconditional love and compassion for others, we help
those people and ourselves as well.
In Conclusion

We must learn to work in harmony with our natural environment and with
each other. It is important that we use our Earths resources
responsibly, and relate to each other with compassion. Uranus and
Neptune (in mutual reception) are bringing us opportunities to discover
innovative and inspired solutions to our personal, environmental and
sociological crises. The infusion of spirit into matter brings hope. If
we will develop compassion in our hearts and use our minds to serve our
hearts, we can heal our world and live in harmony with each other and
Nature.

Om Shanti

Full Moon in Leo
Friday February 6, 2004
12:47am PST
16° 54'

Get ready for some fun and frolic: the Full Moon in Leo is upon us! Leo rules creative self-actualization, and the beauty and magnetism of personal vision. Leo's natives are usually standouts and are always memorable. Leo has a real sense of specialness and perceives all it creates as gifts bestowed upon the rest of us in the name of love and life. Well, honestly is there really any other reason to do much in this world? Leo is the artist, the charismatic leader, the Hollywood star, the sex symbol, the incurable romantic and the Don Juan/Juanita of the zodiac. Even for us commoners, something quite dramatic and amazingly beautiful is bound to happen under a Leo Full Moon.

This is the night to let go of worrying about the world for a few hours (I know it's hard right now) and give in to romanticism in all its forms. This is a Full Moon for making love, making art, and making merry. If you are looking for love, this is the night to take a chance and put yourself out there. Anything can happen under the influence of this most romantic of Moons. Watch out though, the Full Moon in Leo tends to bring out our vanity. Its energy is focused on self and self-pleasure, and may tempt us all to indulge in the non-necessities of life that make us feel beautiful and pampered. Leo is not very good at feeling guilty about life's luxuries. "I am worth it" belongs to Leo consciousness. Scheduling a massage, changing hairstyle, or buying a sexy new outfit may seem like the solution to all your problems on this Full Moon.

Unfortunately, frivolousness and extravagance can be a big hook on a Leo Full Moon. The idea that we can really feel better about ourselves by buying something or changing our appearance is fraught with danger, but it is an ever-present part of a consumerist society like ours. How can we counteract this tendency toward superficiality? One way is to plan an intimate evening with your partner; one that revolves around attending to deepening the experience of shared sensual pleasure in all its forms. Passion and desire are at all time high on this night, so use it to rekindle the flame of love in your relationship. Believe me, Valentine's Day has nothing on a Leo Full Moon. So pull out all the stops for the one you love.

If you prefer something more social, invite a bunch of friends to go out and have some fun seeing and being seen. Leo loves to be the center of attention, so get out there and shine! It's a great night to support the arts; so go see a play or hear some music. If you are up on that stage, be prepared for a very dramatic and inspiring performance. For those of you who made commitments to life changes on the New Moon in Aquarius, this is the time to put those plans into action. You get to begin your new life with the self-confidence of a Leo Full Moon opposing Neptune in Aquarius, which represents the radical energy to throw out the old and bring in the new! Chiron in Capricorn will give you added strength to achieve your goals; no matter how hard and long it takes. Remember that on a Full Moon, it helps to release your old behavior through ritual. Use the artist in you and create a representation of the changes you are making. Then burn it in a fire under the bright light of the Leo Full Moon. Remember to handle fire with care by containing it in a fireplace, cauldron or fire ring. After the fire has burned down completely (you might have to wait until morning) take the spent ash and spread it to the four winds, calling in the power of each direction to aid your commitment to change.

For those of you who are creative types, don't be surprised if you feel like being left alone in the studio all day and night. This is a Full Moon of great inspiration and should not be wasted. If you have been suffering with creative blocks, the Leo Full Moon bestows the energy to break free of inertia and get into action. If it doesn't, you might reconsider your project or direction. Maybe it's just not the right one This year the Leo Full Moon will be opposite the Neptune/Sun conjunction in Aquarius. Some think that Aquarius and Leo are diametrically opposed to one another. But I find their synergistic and interdependent relationship unique among the signs. Aquarius demands radical change, which cannot be accomplished without Leo's talents: unwavering self-belief in one's personal vision and true leadership. Leo demands creativity and caring, which requires the Aquarian rejection of personal glorification in favor of global identification. When balanced, the Leo/Aquarius polarity works hand in hand to further the evolution of human civilization. Corruption, greed and suffering only exist when these energies lack equilibrium. The Leo Full Moon assures us all that we have great personal power and we must learn to use it judiciously.

This is the Full Moon to try on the role of leader. If you have wanted to come out front with your great ideas, this is the time to try. The connection with ego identity is strong on this Full Moon. Leo understands how much power it can wield, and will never shy away from using this knowledge to accomplish even the most outrageous goals. Forget the stereotypical Leo: a partygoer dancing with a lampshade on their head. Instead, think of showing up with a serious commitment to who you are and not backing down for anything. Leo is total self-belief and it uses total commitment to gain success and glory. Think of Madonna (Sun in Leo); she is a powerful presence who insists upon owning her vision and maintaining total control of the product. As we say in Silicon Valley, "it's all about believing your own marketing." Yes, of course there is a dark side to power and glory. We all know that an inflated ego creates the right conditions for abuses of power. But power used wisely can be of great benefit to all. The beauty of Leo is how much it truly cares about others, and since this is a Full Moon, let's get into a celebratory space and bask in the light of Leo's positive qualities.

This is the most dramatic, elegant and fun Full Moon of the year. So get out and enjoy the fireworks!

Week Of Jan 29 1 - Feb 4 The Taurus First Quarter Moon (9 Taurus) was exact on Jan 28. Each night until Feb 6 the Moon waxes or increases in light appearing closer and closer to the Eastern Horizon at Sunset. On Feb 5 we have the fullest rise of the Leo Full Moon, with the Moon already waning by Moonrise on Feb 6 because the exact Full Moon is in the early morning hours of the 6th for most time zones.

Feb 3, Tuesday. Mars enters Taurus early this morning in most time zones transiting here until March 20. The current Mars quest for the Holy Grail within (see Jan 27, 04 archives) is now engaging the often illusive and mysterious realm of sacred pleasure, intimacy and beauty as a highly spiritual experience. Imagine if we lived in a world that honored beauty and pleasure as our highest sacred expression? Imagine living in a world that truly valued intimacy and enjoyment while also celebrating and receiving them as sacred expressions of life. Imagine living in a world where the sacred feminine and the sacred masculine are both equally honored for their unique differences and equally important contributions, providing a sound basis for balance and harmony. Then moving beyond imagination into the realm of decisive action, Mars indicates this is the time to act in ways that support these images manifesting into our reality.

Feb 4, Wednesday. We have reached the astrological cross-quarter (Sun at 15 Aquarius) or exact half way point between the December Solstice when the Sun crosses 0 Capricorn and the March Equinox when the Sun crosses O Aries. This is traditionally a time for continued cleansing and purifying of old energies while creating space for new ones. The Moon goes Void of Course (VOC) this morning until late this afternoon when it shifts into Leo around 4:50 pm Pacific Time. So today is a good day to relax, rejuvenate, renew and go with the flow preparing to engage the BIG Leo energies that will lead us to the Full Moon in Leo on Friday the 6th.

Week of Feb 5–11 This week features a Leo Full Moon symbolizing the fulfillment, or fruition, of the seeds planted at the New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds we may have coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. Once each year we have a Leo Full Moon bringing to light our divine essence, illuminating how consciously we love ourselves or not, and how confident and accepting we are of our divinity.

Feb 5, Thursday. Tonight marks the fullest rise of the Leo Full Moon reaching its exact Full Moon point after midnight tonight in most time zones. This is the best time to ceremonially engage the waxing full Moon rise and to energize the Leo mysteries. I am inspired to again share a quote that I feel brilliantly sums up the essence of the Leo Mysteries. It comes from Marianne Williamson's book A Return to Love. This quote is often mistakenly credited to Nelson Mandela’s 1994 inaugural speech, and the above link also provides links to his actual speeches. This quote really captures the essence of the Leo Mysteries and is a good one for energizing the Leo Full Moon and our own radiant and shining selves.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

http://www.skdesigns.com/internet/articles/quotes/williamson.html

It is also interesting to note that from now until about Feb 21 the North Node is moving across the astrological cross-quarter marked by the season of Beltane (15 Taurus) exactly aligning here on Feb 9. The South Node is always opposite the North Node (15 Scorpio) and is activating the astrological cross-quarter known as Samhain. The Nodes can only cross this area of the sky in this alignment about every 19 years and the last time this alignment took place was Jul 22, 1985. This alignment activates the tantric axis of life force empowerment that reminds us that it is our destiny to enjoy, savor and hold sacred this earthly experience. In the Dreamspell Mayan calendar today is a Galactic Activation Portal of the Yellow Planetary Star. (See Feb 22)

Feb 6, Friday. The Leo Full Moon was exact early this morning just after Midnight Pacific Time. (See Feb 5) Within this Full Moon window Mercury is entering Aquarius today where it remains until Feb 25 transiting this area of the sky in about 21 days. Mercury is our fastest moving planet completing one orbit around the Sun in 88 days. This speed lends itself to our understanding of Mercury’s link with the mind, how we think, perceive, reason, learn and communicate. Innovative, unique, revolutionary, unexpected, avant-garde, and unusual describe the tendencies of Mercury as it expresses through the Aquarius lens. This is a great time to think new and even revolutionary thoughts, entertain and express innovative ideas that radically shift personal and collective assemblage points out of out-moded belief systems and ways of communicating, creating space for connecting to the big picture or grand cosmic perspective that is constantly changing and evolving through the natural flow of life. These changes can feel scary and uncomfortable as we test out new territory but the anxiety we might feel lets us know we are stretching beyond the old limits into ever expanding possibilities.

Feb 7, Saturday. Moon moves into Virgo this afternoon, and will catch up to Jupiter in Virgo tomorrow morning. Tonight the waning but still nearly Full Moon is rising an hour and half after Sunset and about a half hour before Jupiter. Tomorrow night Jupiter will rises about two hours after Sunset and about a half hour before the Moon. Moon and Jupiter are activating the ancient mysteries concerning the patterning of life that includes the natural cycles and rhythms of Earth and Sky. Spider Woman weaves the web of time and space teaching us (if we are listening) when, where and how to weave new webs when the old ones no longer serve. Spider woman knows if the web is properly woven it will draw to her all she needs, all that supports and sustains her life when she is patient and trusting. If our current web is not bringing us what we need, it may be time to relocate and reweave the web, because our web, or foundation, is intended to support the reality of who we believe ourselves to be.

Ponedeljek, 08. marec 2004

General Daily Overview
The Moon enters futuristic Aquarius today at 6:10 am EST, signaling a break from the heavy energy of the past few days. We are still feeling serious, but things are looking up, for today we have a magical trine between lovely Venus and optimistic Jupiter, symbolizing the fulfillment of our sensual desires. No matter what our individual situations, we feel better now. We are encouraged by the possibilities. It feels like love is in the air. The danger of this aspect is that we can be so optimistic that we don't see the bad news right in front of us.

Full Moon in Aries
Tuesday, September 28, 2004
6:09am PDT
5º 45'

The Aries Full Moon is the best Moon to put some concrete action behind those thoughts of beginning anew! This is the best time to take a deep breath and go for those fresh starts and leaps of faith. You really can create a whole new life! For those of you (I know there are many) who took advantage of the Virgo New Moon to work on health, healing, and social issues, this is the night to joyfully release the intentions you have been building over the last two weeks and change your life for the better.

Since Aries is a fire sign, releasing is best done through burning, and fire ritual is best done with safety in mind; so make sure to use a cauldron, indoor fireplace or a stone fire circle at the beach to do this ritual. On an Aries Full Moon your intention is best released with these qualities in mind: spontaneity, wonderment, curiosity, adventurousness and innocence. There are few times in an adult life when we can begin anew without dragging along our past pain, fear and worries. But this is the Full Moon to strive for releasing your intention with childlike hopefulness and inner faith. Know that what comes from your strong intention, will be evolutionary, supportive and…. well, a big adventure! So smile and let it fly!

For those of you who just want to have some fun, this Full Moon of the child is best celebrated with playfulness and adventure. With Jupiter, Mars and Sun conjunct in Libra, enjoying the company of others should be a snap. This is not a night for heaviness. I'm thinking treasure hunt or a game of intrigue and mystery. Mercury in Virgo is always up for puzzle solving of any kind; the harder the better. But remember to be together in lightness and joy, and open up to the healing magic of play.

On a more serious note, Aries represents our instinctual nature and the animal within us. Though it is true that most animals fight and kill for food and territory, we humans have the intelligence to garner our resources without the fight. This year, the instinctual wildness and childishness of a Full Moon in Aries is more than compensated for by the conjunction of planets opposing it in Libra, Chiron (wounding) in Capricorn (values and goals) and Saturn (responsibility) in Cancer (compassion and love) will interject a modicum of seriousness about our seeming inability to use our power compassionately.

While it is true that we have been newly re-awakened to the brutality of our species, we have also been reminded of how much caring and love human beings are capable of in difficult times. This said, like last year, our government is still at war as the Moon waxes to its fullness in Aries, the warrior. 20,000 dead Iraqis is abhorrent and we all share in the shame of America's impetuous, childish, aggressions. Though we failed to get our leaders to reject the way of war, we must hold to our convictions more stongly than ever, continue to work for peace, and this year back up that sentiment with a vote.

The raw sexual energy of this Full Moon will definitely be romanticized by a Venus in Leo and tempered by serious Saturn in Cancer and the all-loving conjunction of planets in Libra. This is the Full Moon to connect to the innocent, nonjudgmental kind of love that Libra and Cancer like best. The Aries Full Moon is the time to remember that we are born knowing only love and to celebrate and share this precious gift. Though our lives seem to seesaw between achievement and loss, love and pain, there is a childlike innocence that still lives within us all. This tender hopefulness continually rekindles our spirit with an unwavering belief in human goodness and love and enables us to rise up from failure. So here's to the successful completion of your new beginnings!

New Moon in Capricorn
Monday, January 10, 2005
4:03am PST
20º 21'

Since much of the time, Capricorn gets a bad rap in astrology, let's begin by celebrating its wonderful qualities. Got goals? Got focus? Got Capricorn. Got drive? Got stamina? Got accomplishment? Got Capricorn. Okay we all know about these qualities, but here's a list you might not automatically come up with. Got loyalty, courage, commitment, a huge heart, deep caring for others, a desire to teach, uplift and inspire? Now you've got the totality of Capricorn.

This is the most powerful New Moon for setting goals, initiating projects, and making a serious commitment to achievement. For those of you who have trouble with follow-through, this is the New Moon to gain focus and work on building real stamina. Believe me, with concerted focus and effort, you might find you are a whole lot stronger and more responsible than you think! In this vein, let's indulge a Saturnian/Capricornian reality check. Those of us, who do not live in the tsunami-affected areas of Asia, are alive. We have not lost our entire village, our whole family, and everything we have worked for our whole life has not been buried in mud or swept out to sea. Most of you reading this have shelter, food, family, and a world of opportunity waiting outside your doorstep. So get a grip, stop complaining, and recognize how fortunate we are to be alive, intact, and capable of contributing fully to our world.

Ever wonder why Capricorn's animal symbol is the mountain goat? I once saw a group of mountain goats on a climb in the Everest region of Nepal. The way up was steep, but the summit promised a wonderful view of Tibet. I watched a group of goats (already high above me) calmly and fearlessly walk an almost vertical hillside that I was doing my best to avoid. They seemed to function from a belief that no path is too steep, no height too lofty to attain, there is nothing to fear. That was their bottom line. Capricorn's incredible ability to achieve comes from hanging in for long haul and not giving up, even if the going gets tough… and neither should you! Again, think about the incredible effort it will take (both psychologically and financially) to rebuild the lives of the millions of people who have been impacted by the tsunami. This Herculean effort over a long period of time has Capricorn written all over it.

Most astrologers associate Saturn, Capricorn's ruler, with fear. The day I heard about the tsunami I could not comprehend the intense fear that must have accompanied the wall of water which instantly took so many lives. And conversely, I contemplated the things I fear in my life and wondered at their power, which suddenly seemed so insignificant in the face of so much destruction. However, in right measure, fear can be a great motivator. Capricorn is the sign which best epitomizes the ability to recognize fear for what it is, move through it, and attain success because of it, not in spite of it. Use this New Moon ritual to acknowledge your fears, and then do some work on reframing your relationship to fear. Make fear a helpmate. Think of it as a big adrenaline rush or just a big push to get you moving on the road to success. In many ways, with respect to earthly experience, Capricorn is the most evolved of the twelve signs. Where Aquarius and Pisces prefer idealistic realms and transcendence, Capricorn insists on nothing less than the "full body" experience of life. No excuses: JUST DO IT!

Here is another secret of Capricorn achievement: work with what you got and don't get lost in dreams of what you wish you had.
I know many of you in Silicon Valley (and probably lots of other places) who still have your jobs are probably doing the work of three, and struggling to get it done with a fewer resources. This would be a great day to gather your staff for a working lunch. With Venus (relating) and Mercury (communicating) joining the Sun, Moon, and Chiron in Capricorn you could make this lunch more than a pep rally; get real and talk openly about the team's goals and how to make each person in the group successful. Write down what actions you must take, in what order, to make the team's goals a reality. Then commit to following these steps no matter how long it takes, no matter how hard it may be. Patience, fortitude, and commitment, these are the winning strategies of Capricorn.

If you are among the many who are still unemployed in this country, you too can benefit from creating a New Moon ritual to get back to work. Capricorn defines itself by the work it does, and the truth is we all feel better when we are self-sufficient. Capricorn is a realist and that is the key to making this kind of ritual really work. Don't ask for that dream job you'll never get. Focus your ritual on obtaining work you can get now, that will be the right next step to making that dream job a reality in your future.

It is true that Capricorn can be risk-averse, due to its Saturnian attachment to security and traditional methods. It is especially true on this New Moon, which is conjunct Chiron (old wounds) in Capricorn (about success) and in opposition to Saturn (Capricorn's ruler) in Cancer (grounding our creativity in reality). Our culture has a funny relationship with creativity and success. Many of us are told that we can't make a living doing what we love. The truth is we can, if we are willing to make the sacrifices that are necessary to follow a path that is less chosen. Success in creative or spiritual endeavors is achieved by those who believe in themselves and work hard at what they love every day. Though our media makes it seem like there are many overnight success stories, when you look deeper into these lives, there is always a long-held dream and a lot of hard work. So let go of the need for instant gratification and overnight success. There is no free lunch and no easy way out. Capricorn is the sign that understands all too well that real success happens though sustained effort.

The Capricorn Moon/Sun/Chiron conjunction along with Venus (finances) in Capricorn (budgeting) is good for one other thing: if you have trouble with over-spending and staying on a budget, this is the New Moon to work hard on changing that pattern of behavior. Capricorn spends conservatively, judiciously and preferably not at all, which is impossible since we all need a roof over our head and food. So what kind of a ritual would be good for this? A ritual of awareness. Sit down and think carefully about what happens to your brain when you are shopping. Do you zone out when you pay for things? If you do, this is the New Moon to commit yourself to total awareness while shopping and buying. Ask yourself do I really need this? What other ways could I use this money I am about to spend? Can I put this money away for my future instead of spending it now? You can easily become wealthier by spending mindfully. Think of it as the Zen of buying or not buying! And while we are on the subject of spending, if you haven't already donated to the tsunami relief efforts, let me suggest a donation to Oxfam America the lead aid organization involved in repairing and rebuilding damaged water systems in the affected areas.

A quick reminder about Saturn/Capricorn, the ruler of depression. Many of you live in areas of the world where the sun does not shine much at this time of year, or rain is an everyday occurrence. Depression is serious and can impact every aspect of a person's life. Though these days there is much less stigma associated with mental health disabilities, still many people (especially men) do not reach out to get help for depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder. This is the New Moon to recognize depression and get up the courage to seek help.
Depression can be the biggest obstacle to setting and achieving goals

Finally, I would ask each of you to contemplate the symbolism of mass destruction from a wall of water occurring on a Full Moon in Cancer, the planet and sign that rule the Archetypal Feminine. It is heartbreaking to see those who have so little, lose so much; for Nature is indiscriminate in Her fury. Think of this as a reminder that we must love and care for each other, not just in times of crisis, but for all time. Our greed, violence and alienation have become a way of life, but in reality it is a sure path to death. We must wake up, or the next six years of Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius will continue to bring destruction through water and disease, rather than enlightenment through realization of transcendental consciousness. This is the New Moon to commit yourself to becoming responsible for your own enlightenment and the enlightenment of all other sentient beings on this planet. Only Capricorn has the stamina to maintain this kind of commitment.

So don't waste this very productive New Moon. Here's to your success!

"January 14th Vedic Winter Solstice"

Plus:

Retrogration of Saturn into Gemini on 13th Jan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

January 14th Vedic Winter Solstice

"January 14th marks the dawn of time in heaven. This signifies the return of light to the earth plane after 6 months of darkness. On this day the Sun moves into Capricorn. This is the most auspicious time to start a new business, relationship or any other activity. Things done during this time will have divine support.

The energy starts shifting on the 13th through the 15th. All of these days have tremendous prosperity energy. Indra, the king of heaven, rejoices during this time of abundance, fun, and luxury and happiness. To mark this occasion and to welcome the Sun into Capricorn we will do a special homa (fire ritual) for the Sun on Jan 14th being the most auspicious day.

The Sun governs ones health both physical and mental, self-esteem, proper functioning of the heart and the vision.

Who should do this homa? It is recommended that everyone participate in the homa. The homa will be particularly good for those born with the following Ascendants and/or Sun Signs: Leo, Gemini, Cancer, Capricorn, Aquarius. People born with the above Zodiacs as their moon sign also will be benefited by this."

About Fire Rituals

The strongest remedy, which can be used to alleviate karmic difficulty, is the performance of a fire ritual also known as a homa or yagna. The fire ritual is a Vedic ceremony, which is performed at a dedicated temple. During the ritual Brahmin priests continuously chant specific astrological mantras (sounds). The priests make offerings, such as rice or clarified butter, to invoke planetary deities or the gods, so that grace and intervention may be given to the person requesting the remedy. A day or two after the remedy a person may experience a relief from a negative karma, which often feels like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders. Due to this relief a person may also feel more energetic. Although it is recommended that the person be at the ceremony, fire rituals are often performed in abstentia.

We offer a group Homa for US $25. Click here to order.

Saturn's Quick and Frantic Transit

Om Sanecharaya Namaha!
"Saturn is the single most important planet in governing an individual's life. He is the Lord of life or destiny. Every planet is being ruled or controlled by a God. In Saturn's case it is Siva who is his Lord. Saturn can make or mar one's life. He is the most dreaded planet because he can completely ruin a person's life and cause unbearable pain and suffering. Nevertheless when he is good he can make one a king.

This current transit of Saturn on September 5th into Cancer has great importance for world events.

For now I want every Astroved member to propitiate Saturn during his transit. In order to enable everyone to participate in the Grand Homa for Saturn we are organizing a group homa at the ashram in India."

Sri Siva speaks on Saturn

“Saturn is the most dreaded planet. He can give utmost suffering and ultimately ruin the person if he is ill placed in someone’s horoscope. Vedic astrology says that Saturn is not merely a planet or planetary being. Saturn is given the status of Lord Shiva himself. He is called Sanishwara in Sanskrit. According to mythology, the planetary being Saturn meditated at the banks of the Ganges in Benares for a long, long time. Lord Shiva appeared before him and offered him a boon. Saturn told Shiva that he should be as powerful as the Lord himself. The boon was granted. This is how Saturn became as powerful as Shiva.

Another mythological anecdote maintains that Saturn’s eyes are kept blindfolded. The idea here is to keep Saturn from looking at people. His very sight is supposed to bring misfortune, pain, and difficulties. Nevertheless, one should know that Saturn brings these difficulties only to chastise the human beings.

Being elevated to the level of God himself, Saturn can also confer great blessings on individuals. On January 13th 2005 Saturn retrogrades into Gemini from Cancer. It would sojourn in Gemini until April 8th and once again enters Cancer on May 26th 2005. The retrogration of Saturn into Gemini would give raise to confusions among the Heads of the states and instability in the Government. This would give raise to poverty among people, drought, starvation and unexpected losses.

For now I want every Astroved member to propitiate Saturn during his transit. In order to enable everyone to participate in the Grand Homa for Saturn we are organizing a group homa at the ashram in India on January 15th 2005.

The retrogration of Saturn would bring benefic effects to Aries, Leo and Capricorn.

The Moon signs that would be affected by the Saturn’s retrogration are Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces.

The Moons signs that would enjoy neutral effects are Virgo, Libra and Aquarius.

We are dividing the Homas into 3 groups as favorable, unfavorable and neutral.

Jan 13, Thursday. Venus and Mercury are low on the Eastern Horizon and are exactly conjunct by sign and degree and are visible about .3 degrees apart. All five visible planets are still within 160 degrees. Retrograde Saturn (24 Cancer) reaches opposition to the Sun rising as it sets and is visible all night. When Saturn opposes the Sun it is always retrograde and always closest to the Earth and therefore brightest in appearance. This is the point in Saturn’s cycle where it is most illuminated and the greatest insights and inspiration are possible. A question worth asking is: How can we create new structures of home and family based in love and cooperation that nurtures and supports us all? http://www.shamanicastrology.com/celestial_timings.htm

http://gwynnedeva.com/lanas.htm
Wednesday the 12th is a harmonious aspect between Venus and Uranus that can symbolize concerted efforts to solidify, manifest and realize long-held dreams, ideals and visions that involve relationships, finances and values can have healthy tangible results. The ability to craft traditional as well as innovative approaches creates a hybrid model of breakthroughs in these areas. New friendships begun now seem to do well over the long run.

Thursday the 13th is a harmonious contact involving Mercury with Uranus that can be excellent for communications breakthroughs, innovative ideas, epiphanies, sudden flashes of intuition and strong intellectual stimulation. Medical, technological, engineering and/or scientific inventions help humanity to improve life.

This same Thursday is the opposition of the Sun with Saturn that symbolizes the definition and clarification period of these two planets’ conjunction "seeding period" from last July 8, 2004. Some individuals experience a tug and pull associated with career matters versus family matters. Another area of importance will involve budgetary concerns.

Finally on this Thursday is the conjunction of Mercury with Venus that symbolizes harmonious communications, sales that benefit the bottom line as well as treasured information. This is the first conjunction of a total of four these two planets have with one another during the 2005-year. The other dates are March 29, 2005, June 27, 2005 and July 9, 2005.

Saturday the 15th is a harmonious alignment of Mars with Neptune that is excellent for the protection, defense and initiatives that can be launched to help charitable causes, political coalitions and legislative agenda. Active participation for prayer, meditation, contemplation, visualization and affirmation is highlighted. I consider this alignment as a "Spiritual Warrior" energy.

This same Saturday is the bi-monthly declinational shift of the Moon that symbolizes changes with meteorological, seismic and volcanic activities. Group consciousness, team approaches, priorities and prime objectives are important to cultivate. Motivational inspiration is brought to the forefront.

Sunday the 16th is the annual conjunction of the Sun with Chiron that symbolizes the "seeding" period of these two celestial bodies. Strong identification with all healing paradigms such as massage therapy, hydrotherapy, chiropractic, aromatherapy as well as reiki is beneficial. The Sun will oppose Chiron on July 23, 2005 so whatever is "seeded" now in January can be fully define and clarified later in July. The purging of criticism, resentments, remorse, bitterness as well as regrets from the past will facilitate balance and ease in one’s life.

Full Moon in Leo
Tuesday, January 25, 2005
2:32am PST
5° 33'

This year, the normally fun and playful Full Moon in Leo is surrounded by a whole lot of planets in selfless and serious signs! We have a Venus/Mercury/Chiron conjunction in ever serious Capricorn opposing Saturn in Cancer, reminding us that just two weeks ago we were hard at work setting goals and now is not the time to slack off and play. Additionally, the Leo Full Moon is inconjunct Uranus in Pisces, the ever-present reminder of our own personal insignificance when compared with the power of nature (the tsunami). So though Leo rules creative self-actualization, personal power, and the beauty and magnetism of personal vision, there is so much to be concerned about in our world that thinking about our own desires and/or having a grand old time may not seem like such a great idea. However, whether it is due to Leo's incredibly big need to be seen and loved, or its own healthy dose of narcissism, the Leo Full Moon won't give up without a real fight for our attention.

Leo natives are usually standouts and are always memorable.

Though Capricorn is not the most expansive placement for Venus, love can manifest itself in your life even if it takes a little extra effort. The idea that we can really feel better about ourselves by buying something or changing our appearance is fraught with danger, and is unfortunately is a large part of the belief system of a consumerist society.

Maybe even plan an event that can raise money for Tsunami victims. This is a great way to bring together fun and a good cause.

For those of you who made commitments to goals on the New Moon in Capricorn, this is the time to put those plans into action. You get to begin your new life with the self-confidence of a Leo Full Moon opposing Sun in Aquarius, which represents the radical energy to throw out the old self and bring in the new!

For those of you who are creative types, don't be surprised if you feel like being left alone in the studio all day and night, especially with Venus and Mercury in committed, hardworking Capricorn. This is a Full Moon of great inspiration and should not be wasted. If you have been suffering with creative blocks, the Leo Full Moon bestows the energy to break free of inertia and get into action. If it doesn't, you might reconsider your project or direction. Maybe it's just not the right one.

This year the Leo Full Moon will be opposite Neptune and Sun in Aquarius. If you have wanted to come out front with your great ideas, this is the time to try (especially with the conjunction of planets in Capricorn screaming, "JUST DO IT!") The connection with ego identity is strong on this Full Moon.

Title: Saturn in Retrograde

Saturn in Retrograde:
Impending World Disaster

Everyone in astrology knows that Saturn is the single most powerful planet. He can make or mar a person. Once a king by the name Nala lost his kingdom and was reduced to a chef because of the devastating influence of Saturn.

Saturn does not even spare Gods. It is said that during Saturn’s time Ganesha’s human head was cut off by Siva. Siva himself started to beg during Saturn’s period. One may ask how Siva, the Almighty, can be affected by Saturn. It is true that Siva is the ultimate goal of all the cosmos. Nevertheless, he appointed Saturn to do a certain job and that is to bring people to justice (dharma) through intense hardship and suffering. Siva Himself underwent the humiliation of a beggar just to teach a lesson to the human beings and also to demonstrate the power of Saturn.

Saturn is the slowest moving planet. It takes 30 years for him to complete one cycle of his revolution through the 12 zodiacs. He spends roughly about 2 ½ years in each sign.

Currently Saturn has made some erratic movements. I wrote about this movement about 20 months ago pointing out the impact of the movement on the US elections. I predicted that the accelerated movement of Saturn from Gemini into Cancer would be extremely favorable for Bush to become the president again. If Saturn had not made this movement, Bush would have lost the election.

Now Saturn has moved back into Gemini. He is going to be there in Gemini until May 25th (26th in India). From now until May 25/26th Saturn will bring in tremendous amount of destruction around the world. This destruction will invoke natural calamities as well as calamities caused by weapons of mass destruction. It is as if God is speaking through Saturn. It is indeed true that Saturn is God. It is Lord Siva who is the overlord for Saturn. In the midst of destruction and suffering there will be some comfort. Although the comfort will not be immediate. It is as if the whole world is being rid of negativity. The whole world is going through a surgical process. Saturn is conducting the massive surgical process of removing tumors.

During this upcoming 6 months period, Saturn will pull down the kings, presidents and prime ministers who came to power through unlawful means. He will also punish rich people who made money through exploitation. Many multi-billion dollar corporations exercising monopolies will be the worst hit. Saturn will get into the minds of these evil people and force them to become righteous by inflecting pain and suffering. Everyone will fear Saturn. In order to avoid the danger, it is important that mass prayer should be directed towards Saturn and his overlord Siva.

Where is the proof that Saturn is going to do all these things? The proof is coming. All devastation will happen on Saturdays or during the Saturn hora. He will also destroy on Wednesdays because of the fact that he is in Gemini, which is the zodiac ruled by Mercury.

People who are Gemini-born whether they have moon in Gemini or Gemini ascendant will undergo a clean up process. During this time the Gemini people will come into direct contact with God; they will end their devious, mercurial diplomacy.

Saturn is also the Lord of life. He gives life and takes it away as well. In other words he crosses both birth and death in order to give experience to human souls to go through their karma. Now that Saturn is in his destructive mode he will cause more death. The death will be mysterious. It could be engineered through natural disasters or through weapons. People will also die mysteriously for no reason through suffocation and heart attacks. Conversely, people will also be saved from massive heart attacks through the mysterious power of Saturn to sustain life.

Everything will happen in the blink of an eye thereby demonstrating divine power versus human power. Human beings have been demanding through their ignorance proof of the existence of God. God does not need any proof, but the human ego has gone out of control. As I write this now, God will make everyone to kneel down and pray for life. This is indeed the hour of God.

- - Siva Baba.

Title: LUNA v 2005
Post by Kali on 24.01.2005 at 21:34:40

January 25, 5:32 a.m. EST -- The Full Wolf Moon. Amid the zero cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. It was also known as the Old Moon or the Moon After Yule. In some tribes this was the Full Snow Moon; most applied that name to the next moon.

February 23, 11:54 p.m. EST -- The Full Snow Moon. Usually the heaviest snows fall in this month. Hunting becomes very difficult, and hence to some tribes this was the Full Hunger Moon.

March 25, 3:58 p.m. EST -- The Full Worm Moon. In this month the ground softens and the earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signals the end of winter, or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. This is also the Paschal Full Moon; the first full Moon of the spring season. The first Sunday following the Paschal Moon is Easter Sunday, which indeed will be observed two days later on Sunday, March 27.

April 24, 6:06 a.m. EDT -- The Full Pink Moon. The grass pink or wild ground phlox is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names were the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and -- among coastal tribes -- the Full Fish Moon, when the shad came upstream to spawn.

May 23, 4:18 p.m. EDT -- The Full Flower Moon. Flowers are abundant everywhere. It was also known as the Full Corn Planting Moon or the Milk Moon.

June 22, 12:14 a.m. EDT -- The Full Strawberry Moon. Known to every Algonquin tribe. Europeans called it the Rose Moon.

July 21, 7:00 a.m. EDT -- The Full Buck Moon, when the new antlers of buck deer push out from their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, thunderstorms being now most frequent. Sometimes also called the Full Hay Moon. The Moon will also be at perigee later this day, at 4:00 p.m., at a distance of 221,928 mi./357,158 km miles from Earth. Very high ocean tides can be expected from the coincidence of perigee with full Moon.

August 19, 1:53 p.m. EDT -- The Full Sturgeon Moon, when this large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water like Lake Champlain is most readily caught. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because the moon rises looking reddish through sultry haze, or the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.

September 17, 10:01 p.m. EDT -- The Full Harvest Moon. Traditionally, this designation goes to the Full Moon that occurs closest to the Autumnal (Fall) Equinox. In two years out of three, the Harvest Moon comes in September, but every third year it occurs in October. At the peak of the harvest, farmers can work into the night by the light of this moon. Usually the full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice -- the chief Indian staples -- are now ready for gathering.

October 17, 8:14 a.m. EDT -- The Full Hunter’s Moon. With the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it is time to hunt. Since the fields have been reaped, hunters can ride over the stubble, and can more easily see the fox, also other animals, which have come out to glean and can be caught for a thanksgiving banquet after the harvest. A very minor (6.8% coverage) partial eclipse of the Moon will take place between 7:34 and 8:32 a.m. EDT and will be visible from western and central sections of North America.

November 15, 7:58 p.m. EST -- The Full Beaver Moon. Time to set beaver traps before the swamps freeze to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Beaver Full Moon come from the fact that the beavers are now active in their preparation for winter. Also called the Frosty Moon.

December 15, 11:15 a.m. EST -- The Full Cold Moon; among some tribes, the Full Long Nights Moon. In this month the winter cold fastens its grip, and the nights are at their longest and darkest. Also sometimes called the Moon before Yule (Yule is Christmas, and this time the Moon is only just before it). The term Long Night Moon is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long and the Moon is above the horizon a long time. The midwinter full Moon takes a high trajectory across the sky because it is opposite to the low Sun.

Feb 2005 Celestial Timings Introduction
By Carolyn Brent

Excerpts from Return Of The Bird Tribes by Ken Carey
…the better part of the Bird Tribes have not been incarnate in human form during historical times,
though always we were there in nature and in the spirit worlds around you.
Some twenty-five centuries ago most of us departed, to wait for the return of your intelligence
and the slow turning of the sacred cycles that would favor your awakening.
We are returning now, appearing like the first stars at the predawn clearing of a storm.
Into your consciousness we come, appearing subtly at first, a whisper among your dreams.
But steadily our presence grows, soon to shine as distinctly as the sun of morning.
We come now with a message that will prove vital to you in these last years of history’s night.
We call to you, human ones, beings of light. Rise up from your tradition-bound past
and become our creative partners in the continuing unfoldment of wonder….

We are the Bird Tribes. And we are returning. We are here to teach you how to fly….

White Buffalo Calf Woman speaks…
“My tribe is the Fire Bird…I am one of the Bird People,
whose tribe once covered this Island of the Turtle.
Do you remember the Winged Ones of heaven?
The Fire Birds? The Thunder Tribes?
How long has it been since you called to us in your councils?…
Your people have forgotten…that which is more precious than water.
You have forgotten your connection with Great Spirit.
I have come…with a fire from heaven to kindle again your memory
of what has been and to strengthen you for the times to come.

The above quotes found me within two days of one of those “was that really a dream?” type dreams where I was specifically told I had returned to live with the Bird People. This happened in the early morning hours of the Taurus New Moon rare alignment with Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn on May 4, 2000. I didn’t know this book existed until two days later. There are many more synchronistic and magical pieces to this story weaving together people places and events including the White Buffalo and prophecies concerning their return and how that is linked to the Return of the Bird Tribes. http://www.sacredwhitebuffalo.org/index.html In true Neptunian style (Neptune and Sun conjunct on Feb 3 at 15 Aquarius) I am not exactly sure why I am sharing these quotes at this time. This is great practice in leaving the reasons and logic up to the unfolding Great Mystery encouraging us to listen to our inner guidance regardless of what is going on in our external world especially when it doesn’t make rational sense.

White Buffalo Calf Woman reminds us “Creation does not take place where there is a scattering and dissipation of energies. Creation requires a gathering together and focusing of your power within a circle of commitment – like a seed, an egg, a womb or a marriage. If you would create and not destroy, you must remember always the Sacred Hoop. Consider wisely the ways in which you would use your power and then around those ways draw the sacred circle of commitment. In the warm atmosphere of that circle, the power of love builds and builds like a storm above the wet summer prairie until suddenly the circle can hold no more and explodes in the conception of the new.”

February Sky
Jupiter (19 Libra) stations Retrograde Feb 1 rising 5 and 1/2 hours after Sun near the fixed star Spica in the Hand of the Virgin Priestess. Moon passes by on Feb 26 – 27 visible together from late evening until Sunrise.

Pluto (24 Sag) conjuncts the Moon near Ras Alhague on Feb 4 (See Jan 1, 2005 Timings)
Mars (29 Sag) conjuncts the Moon near Galactic Center on Feb 5 passing through the constellation of the Archer the rest of this month. Mars enters the sign of Capricorn Feb 6. (See Article on Difference between Signs and Constellations)
Venus conjuncts the Moon (7 Aquarius) on Feb 7. Moon and Venus maybe visible before Sun rise with a low eastern horizon line. Venus disappears from the morning stage mid-February remaining invisible with the Sun until early May.
Saturn begins the month retrograde at 22 degrees and 24 minutes of Cancer and ends the month at 20 degrees and 49 minutes of Cancer preparing to station direct on March 21 currently traveling through the constellation of the Twins. Saturn and Moon conjunct on Feb 20.
Uranus (7 Pisces) conjuncts the Sun on Feb 24

I am delighted, thrilled and most grateful for Rosalind Shorter and her willingness to help me with the Celestial Timings this month. She is also bringing her love of the Dreamspell Calendar to this months timings. The task of writing the Celestial Timings is huge and daunting especially for beginners. Please welcome Rosalind and her beautiful offering of these mysteries.

February 2005 Celestial Timings
by Rosalind Shorter

Early in February Orion will be at its highest point in the southern sky. Orion is a hourglass shaped constellation. You will be able to see in the southern sky after 6pm. Look for his belt first, three equally bright stars in a straight line that slants from the lower left to the upper right. Above his belt are two stars that make up his shoulders. The brighter one to the left is the reddish-orange Betelgeuse and the other is Bellatrix. Saiph and Rigel are below his belt. Rigel, the brighter of the two is blue-white in color. Sirius, our brightest fixed is stationed to Orion’s lower left and joins with Betelgeuse and Procyon forming the Winter Triangle. In the northeastern sky, the handle of the Big Dipper is pointing downward as if balancing on it.

The Last Quarter on February 2nd is at 2:27 am EST. Just before dawn on February 4th, look for Antares to the Moon’s upper right and for Mars to the Moon’s lower left. The Aquarius New Moon is on February 8th at 5:28 pm EST. The waxing Moon is near the Pleiades on February 15th in its First Quarter phase. The Moon joins Saturn, Pollux and Castor on February 19th and 20th. February 23 is the Virgo Full Moon also known as the Snow Moon at 11:54 pm EST. On February 26th look for the Moon and Jupiter together in the eastern sky around 10 pm EST and the Moon occults Jupiter (or covers and uncovers it) in the early morning hours of Feb 27.

Daily meditations/affirmations from the Dreamspell Calendar are included in this month’s timings. The affirmations assist in tuning into the galactic energy signature of the day. This provides additional connection to the rhythm of galactic natural time that differs from the time scheme of the Gregorian calendar which de-emphasizes the natural cycles of the Moon and other planets as well as Solstices and Equinoxes. The Dreamspell Calendar is based on Jose Argüelles’ research of the Mayan Calendar. The Dreamspell Calendar consists of 13 months or moons of 28 days each. February begins during the last six days of the seventh moon of the Dreamspell Calendar. The seventh moon of the Dreamspell Calendar is the Resonant Moon of Attunement. A question worth meditating on during this period is “How can I attune my service to others?” The totem animal for the Resonant Moon is Monkey. You may want to take the first six days of February to reflect on how to adapt and evolve as our monkey ancestors did. Listen to Spirit and let it guide and inspire you to reach your greatest potential and true destiny.

Tuesday, February 1st. The Moon moves into Scorpio at 1:51AM EST and squares Mercury in Aquarius. With the Scorpio Moon emotions will run intensely deep though are controllable through the detached logic of Mercury in Aquarius.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Red Resonant Monkey and the affirmation is:
“I channel in order to purify
Inspiring flow
I seal the process of universal water
With the resonant tone of attunement
I am guided by the power of birth.
I am a galactic activation portal….enter me.”

Wednesday, February 2nd. Venus enters Aquarius at 10:42 am bringing a sense of freedom from physical and emotional issues and a need to focus on intellectual and spiritual matters. Meditating on Aquarian Venus can assist you in finding your spiritual center.

Two holidays share this date: Candlemas and Groundhog Day. Candlemas is the Feast Day of Bridget of Kildare, the Celtic goddess of fire, the hearth, smithy, fields, poetry and childbirth. On this day, Bridget would visit and bless homes. This is a cross-quarter day in the Celtic Calendar falling nearly halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. The actual astrological cross-quarter is Feb 3 when the Sun reaches 15 degrees Aquarius. Traditionally, this day is said to mark the end of winter and the beginning of spring and is the precursor of the American celebration of Groundhog Day. (See 2/2/2004 Celestial Timings Archives)

If Candlemas day be sunny and bright,
Winter will have another flight
If Candlemas day be shower and rain,
Winter be gone and will not come again.

The seeds planted at the winter solstice are now beginning to manifest. It is a time for new beginnings and germination of promises made during the darkness of winter. Take this time to remember and renew the wishes, promises and goals made in the previous year.

Today’s Galactic Energy is White Galactic Dog:
“I harmonize in order to love
Modeling loyalty
I seal the process of heart
With the galactic tone of integrity.
I am guided by the power of timelessness.”

Thursday, February 3rd The Moon moves into Sagittarius at 7:21 am EST enhancing the current Resonant Moon energy of the Dreamspell Calendar. Sagittarius is the truth-seeker inspiring our search for personal truth and life purpose. In addition, the Sun is conjunct Neptune (15 Aquarius) indicating the universe may set up unexpected and uncontrollable circumstances helping to illuminating our search for our personal truth. Each planetary conjunction with the Sun illuminates inner unseen doorways into the mysteries of that planet. Neptune includes the mysteries associated with inspired intuition, compassion, and dreaming. This is a great time to pay attention to intuitive messages that support us in more fully living our life’s purpose.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Blue Solar Monkey:
“I pulse in order to play
Realizing illusion
I seal the process of magic
With the solar tone of intention.
I am guided by the power of accomplishment.”

Friday, February 4th With the Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Pluto, the energies of the previous day continue with Pluto taking us to the depths of our emotional being furthering the search for personal truth.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Yellow Planetary Human:
“I perfect in order to influence
Producing wisdom
I seal the process of free will
With planetary tone of manifestation.
I am guided by the power of universal fire.
I am a galactic activation portal….enter me.

Saturday, February 5th The Moon conjuncts Mars (29 Sag) at 8:08 am EST possibly energizing feelings of disconnection and disorientation if we are out of synch with our spiritual quest. Then the Moon moves into Capricorn transmitting the understanding of how to responsibly administer our personal domain. This is a good time to notice areas where we are taking too much responsibility as well as where we are not taking enough.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Red Spectral Skywalker:
“I dissolve in order to explore
Releasing wakefulness
I seal the output of space
With the spectral tone of liberation.
I am guided by my own power doubled.

Sunday, February 6th Mars enters Capricorn at 1:32 pm EST energizing the elder statesman who focuses on knowing and using the rules of life to manage responsibly within the global community. Take this time to tune into your inner “Elder” and allow him/her to help guide you.

Today’s Galactic Energy is White Crystal Wizard:
“I dedicate in order to enchant
Universalizing receptivity
I seal the output of timelessness
With the crystal tone of cooperation.
I am guided by the power of birth.

Monday February 7th – Monday February 28th The rest of the month of February falls in the eighth month of the Dreamspell Calendar, the Galactic Moon of Integrity. The question to meditate on is “Do I live what I believe?” We can use the power of harmonizing with our true self taking action that models integrity. The totem animal for this moon is the Hawk. According to Ted Andrews’ Animal-Wise Tarot, “Hawk’s appearance always heralds a time of greater strength and vision, which will help us tremendously in our present endeavors. We will have protection in our journeys and endeavors. Now is the time to gallantly move forward with them.”

Monday, February 7th The Moon moves into Aquarius at 9:26 am EST and conjuncts Venus at 8:06 pm EST. Just before Sunrise today the Moon appears near Venus very low on the eastern horizon. This is marking the final passage of Venus through all the gates into the underworld. Venus will disappear from the morning sky about Feb 19 symbolizing her journey through the underworld until she rises as an evening star in early May. Today the old goddess (Moon) and the new goddess (Venus) are gathered in council. Their collective energies support us in attuning to cosmic consciousness. Now is the time to detach from the physical and emotional issues currently at work in our lives and use pure spiritual detachment in our quest for living with integrity.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Blue Cosmic Eagle:
“I endure in order to create
Transcending mind
I seal the output of vision
With the cosmic tone of presence.
I am guided by the power of self-generation.”

Tuesday, February 8th Today is the Aquarius New Moon (20 Aquarius) at 5:28 pm EST. Traditionally, the New Moon is a time to plant new seeds that will symbolically coming to fruition at a future Full Moon. The Aquarius New Moon is a time for planting revolutionary seeds of change that support beneficial evolutionary growth. This New Moon is conjunct Neptune in Aquarius (15Aquarius). It is time to sow seeds that allow us to tune in on a transcendental level to the original dreams and goals of our lives….are you living what you believe? Today is Fat Tuesday and the end of the Mardi Gras season. Party tonight for tomorrow begins the Lenten season of 40 days of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual fasting and detoxification.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Yellow Magnetic Warrior:
”I unify in order to question
Attracting fearlessness
I seal the output of intelligence
With the magnetic tone of purpose.
I am guided by my own power doubled.”

Wednesday, February 9th. The Chinese New Year of the Wood Rooster officially starts today. The following poem describes Rooster Energies…..

I am on hand
To herald in the day,
And to announce its exit.
I thrive by clockwork and precision.
In my unending quest for perfection
All things will be restored to their rightful place.
I am the exacting taskmaster.
The ever-watchful administrator.
I seek perfect order in my world.
I represent unfailing dedication.
I am the Rooster.

The Moon enters Pisces at 8:59 am EST bringing in the energy of universal selfless service. It is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten season. As we begin the period of Lent, let us think about how our personal sacrifices can contribute to universal goodness. It has been 46 days since the tsunamis hit Indonesia, Thailand, India and Somalia…have you contributed to the relief efforts in some way? Let the Piscean Moon speak to you about how you can help relieve some of the suffering that exists on Earth. Tune in and allow yourself to be a part of a collective consciousness that is Peace on Earth.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Red Lunar Earth:
“I polarize in order to evolve
Stabilizing synchronicity
I seal the matrix of navigation
With the lunar tone of challenge.
I am guided by the power of universal water.
I am a galactic activation portal….enter me.

Thursday, February 10th The Moon remains in Pisces and continues to bring with it the energy of transcendental universal service. Tune into the energy of the Bodhisattva who is fully enlightened and decided to remain on Earth to be of selfless service to humanity.

Today’s Galactic Energy is White Electric Mirror:
“I activate in order to reflect
Bonding order
I seal the matrix of endlessness
With the electric tone of service.
I am guided by the power of spirit.”

Friday, February 11th The Moon enters Aries at 10:21 am EST squaring Mars in Capricorn at 4:32pm EST. Aries Moon has an impetuous spirit often leaping into action without thought. However, Capricorn Mars helps settle impetuous Aries by adding some reasoned thought to the mix.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Blue Self-Existing Storm:
“I define in order to catalyze
Measuring energy
I seal the matrix of self-generation
With the self-existing tone of form.
I am guided by the power of vision.”

Saturday, February 12th Sun (24 Aquarius) sextiles Pluto (24 Sagittarius) exact at 10:28 am EST. The Sun Pluto conjunction on December 13, 04 (22 Sagittarius) initiated the annual dance of Pluto with the Sun illuminating our personal and collective experience around the experience of authentic divine power. Pluto sextile the Sun now is further activating revolutionary growth when we are willing to release outmoded beliefs, truths and misconceptions still lingering in our awareness. This supports an ever growing more authentic experience of our original core self. Any lingering shadow issues such as fears, judgments, and forgotten or denied skills and abilities we carry are likely to surface now for further awareness and transformation.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Yellow Overtone Sun:
“I empower in order to enlighten
Commanding life
I seal the matrix of universal fire
With the overtone tone of radiance
I am guided by the power of elegance”

Sunday, February 13th The Moon is void of course until it enters Taurus at 3:18 pm EST. Taurus is earthy and sensual. Take this time to revel in and enjoy the pleasures of receiving intimacy. Know that you are truly beautiful without reservation and deserve to be honored in way that is befitting that status. Settle for nothing less than to be truly and completely honored and loved. In July 2002, during a group meditation to heal Mother Earth I received a following message from the “Ancient One”, the original goddess, Gaia, Mother Earth impressing upon me her urgent need for healing. Ultimately we cannot be whole unless she is whole and she cannot be whole unless and until we are whole.

“Mother Earth is unsettled and unbalanced. To return to a harmonious state an equal balance of power between men and women is necessary. Women are the source and nurturers of life. It is time for women to own and accept their power rejecting the labels of beauty and limiting feminine roles determined by our male dominated culture. It is also true there are also labels and roles that have limited men in their authentic experience of themselves as well. It is time both men and women see themselves as the truly beautiful and divine people that we are. As both men and women heal and accept themselves more fully, Mother Earth will heal herself and return to a place of harmony and peace.”

The galactic energy for today is Red Rhythmic Dragon:
“I organize in order to nurture
Balancing being
I seal the input of birth
With the rhythmic tone of equality
I am guided by my own power doubled”
Birth and rebirth is the essence of the day!!!

Monday, February 14th The Moon remains in Taurus and squares Venus in Aquarius. The challenge between the old goddess (Moon) and the new goddess (Venus) is one of deep sensuality versus cool aloofness. This St. Valentine’s Day is an auspicious day for finding greater balance between sensual intimacy and self-reliant independence. Maybe the goddess of intimacy (Taurus) can teach the independent goddess about the joy of sensual intimate connection while the Aquarian Goddess can teach the Taurus Goddess about the benefits of being truly independent and free enough to receive from each other without attachment, reservation or hesitation. For the giver receives as much from the giving when the receiver genuinely receives with gratitude.
Today’s Galactic Energy is White Resonant Wind:
“I channel in order to communicate
Inspiring breath
I seal the input of spirit
With the resonant tone of attunement
I am guided by the power of timelessness.”

Tuesday, February 15th The First Quarter Moon in Taurus is directly overhead at Sunset near the Pleiades. This means the Moon in Taurus is forming an exact square to the Sun (27 Aquarius) at 7:16 PM EST illuminating and energizing the struggle between earthy sensuality and cool aloofness. The accelerating energy of this half Full Moon is also receiving and transmitting from the Pleiades star gate where magnified messages are available if we are tuned in…

Today’s Galactic Energy is Blue Galactic Night:
“I harmonize in order to dream
Modeling intuition
I seal the input of abundance
With the galactic tone of integrity
I am guided by the power of accomplishment
I am a galactic activation portal…enter me.”

Wednesday, February 16th The Moon enters Gemini at 12:18 AM EST. Gemini is footloose, fancy-free, creative energy. Take these next two days to reconnect with your inner muse, with spirit and with humor and freedom. Mercury enters Pisces at 12:46 PM EST enhancing our ability to connect with our inner muse through being fully present in the moment and connected to our deepest, most empathic and compassionate feelings.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Yellow Solar Seed:
“I pulse in order to target
Realizing awareness
I seal the input of flowering
With the solar tone of intention
I am guided by the power of universal fire.”

Thursday, February 17th Venus (18 Aquarius) Trines Jupiter (18 Libra) having moved 120 degrees apart since their beautiful conjunction in the morning sky last November. Venus now traveling with the Sun is not visible and Jupiter remains a prominent feature of the morning sky. This timing supports inner reflection and expanding vision on what was seeded with Venus and Jupiter in November particularly in the area of conscious equal partnership with all our parts and with each other.

Today’s Galactic Energy is Red Planetary Serpent:
“I perfect in order to survive
Producing instinct
I seal the store of life force
With the planetary tone of manifestation
I am guided by the power of space.”

Friday, February 18th The Sun enters Pisces at 8:32 AM EST illuminating and energizing universal love and selfless service to others. The Moon enters Cancer at 12:13 PM EST and remains there until early on February 20th. Cancer involves loving and nurturing progeny with an eye to future generations. With Sun in Pisces and Moon in Cancer this is a time for refining our attunement to selfless service in nurturing all Earth’s progeny providing a foundation of greater love and acceptance for future generations.

The galactic energy for February 18th is White Spectral World-Bridger and the affirmation is:
“I dissolve in order to equalize
Releasing opportunity
I seal the store of death
With the spectral tone of liberation
I am guided by my own power doubled…death.”

Saturday Feb 19. Mercury conjunct Uranus (6 Pisces) is an indicator for unusually high intense mental processes providing potential for breakthroughs in limiting thought patterns. This is an excellent time to expand ordinary modes of thinking by considering radical and unusual viewpoints, further opening our minds to new possibilities. Uranus often brings change in sudden and unexpected ways, shifting the old assemblage point allowing for new perspectives, insights and understanding. Resistance results in slowing, or getting stuck in, the breakdown which then delays the break through. It helps to go with the flow and note the messages of change that are innovative, brilliant, cutting edge, and liberating.

The galactic energy for today is Blue Crystal Hand:
“I dedicate in order to know
Universalizing healing
I seal the store of accomplishment
With the crystal tone of cooperation
I am guided by the power of self-generation.”

Sunday, Feb 20. The waxing Moon conjuncts retrograde Saturn (21 Cancer) early this morning. Tonight after sunset the Moon will be well past Saturn visible above the near Castor and Pollux on the rim of the Sacred Hoop. Saturn is rapidly slowing for its direct station on Mar 21. Together Moon and Saturn further illuminate the possibility of a world structured in cooperation and caring for one another, where everyone feels safe and their needs are met. Globally beneficial changes are established and maintained in the collective field of awareness when we reach critical mass as described by the 100th monkey effect. This current Saturn transit indicates we have the necessary support for the establishment of a new form, new matrix, or collective system of operation based in cooperation and love when enough people are practicing forgiveness and consciously choosing this reality.

The galactic energy for today is Yellow Cosmic Star:
“I endure in order to beautify
Transcending art
I seal the store of elegance
With the cosmic tone of presence
I am guided by the power of free will.”

Monday, February 21st The Moon enters Leo at 12:54 AM EST. Leo energizes feelings of self-love and self-confidence. Now is the time to empower yourself so you can empower others by showing how to love yourself fully and radically. Venus (24 Aquarius) sextiles Pluto (24 Sagittarius) assisting in digging deeply into our deepest fears about being truly and completely independent and free. Use these energies to empower yourself by loving yourself as you are and being okay with being independent of another.

The galactic energy for Today is Red Magnetic Moon:
“I unify in order to purify
Attracting flow
I seal the process of universal water
With the magnetic tone of purpose
I am guided by my own power doubled…universal water.”

Tuesday, February 22nd Transformational messenger Mercury (11 Pisces) is sextiling accomplishment oriented Mars (11 Capricorn) teaming up for intuitively inspired, decisive, practical, productive action.

The galactic energy for today is White Lunar Dog:
“I polarize in order to love
Stabilizing loyalty
I seal the process of heart
With the lunar tone of challenge
I am guided by the power of spirit.”

Wednesday, February 23rd The Moon enters the Full Moon phase at 11:54 PM EST. The seeds planted at the New Moon can now be brought to fruition. The Moon enters Virgo at 12:44 PM EST activating the need to find our sacred work and attune ourselves to our sacred life purpose. The Moon in opposition to the Sun (5 Pisces) allows us to see our sacred work as the path of selfless service to humanity.

The galactic energy for today is Blue Electric Monkey:
“I activate in order to play
Bonding illusion
I seal the process of magic
With the electric tone of service
I am guided by the power of vision.
I am a galactic activation portal…enter me.”

Thursday, February 24th Sun conjunct Uranus (7 Pisces) Pisces operates in the realm of visionary imagination where we have the power to dream our dreams into reality from the place of great compassion without attachment to outcome allowing whatever needs to be a safe, accepting space. Uranus is a change agent, a catalyst intended to maximize evolution of consciousness. Uranus is “revolution for evolution” “break down to break through” and “whatever it takes” to shift assemblage points. The Sun Uranus energy is seeking innovative, creative and unusual ways to wake us up to true compassion and acceptance. It is wise to expect the unexpected, roll with the flow and trust whatever is unfolding is aligned with the divine plan.

The galactic energy today is Yellow Self-Existing Human:
“I define in order to influence
Measuring wisdom
I seal the process of free will
With the self-existing tone of form
I am guided by the power of elegance.”

Friday, February 25th The Moon remains in Virgo until it goes void of course at 12:00 PM EST suggesting this is a great day to leave work early and allow time for creative pursuits outside the realm of ordinary reality. Moon enters Libra at 10:59 PM EST and remains until February 27th at 8:49 PM EST. Libra Moon brings the desire for conscious equal partnership. Learn the lessons necessary to achieve mastery in relationship. Are you in an equal partnership? Where are the imbalances in your relationships?

The galactic energy today is Red Overtone Skywalker:
“I empower in order to explore
Commanding wakefulness
I seal the output of space
With the overtone tone of radiance
I am guided by the power of birth."

Saturday, Feb 26 Venus moves into Pisces where it remains until Mar 22. The magical feminine (Venus) now integrating the Heyokah Coyote Woman in her larger collective cycle that began Jun 15, 2004, finds herself operating in the Pisces imaginal realms where she is learning more about co-creating her world through playful imagination that goes beyond logic and reason.

The galactic energy for today is White Rhythmic Wizard:
“I organize in order to enchant
Balancing receptivity
I seal the output of timelessness
With the rhythmic tone of equality
I am guided by my own power doubled…timelessness.”

Sunday, February 27th Moon Occults Jupiter (18 Libra) visible in Southern Australia part of Antarctica. Occultations accelerate energy similar to an eclipse. This acceleration provides an opportunity to uncover hidden beliefs around relating to our life, to others and to our world. What holds us back from healthy conscious relating in ways that are uplifting and supportive to all concerned?

The galactic energy for today is Blue Resonant Eagle:
“I channel in order to create
Inspiring mind
I seal the output of vision
With the resonant tone of attunement
I am guided by the power of accomplishment.”

Monday, February 28th The Moon enters Scorpio at 7:21 AM EST. Scorpio operates in the intense feeling realms while also learning lessons necessary to manage and express those intense feelings in healthy ways. This timing supports further mastery of our emotions by bringing our will into alignment with God’s will or divine will. Another expression of Scorpio is the Shamaness/Witch, creatrix and holder of life force energy. This is one of the original expressions of women’s mysteries. Tapping into these mysteries in a healthy way allows us to fully manifest the power and strength of spirit in matter. Connecting with your inner “Witch” or “wise woman” teaches you how to feel the fullness of your life force and manifest your desires into reality. The Scorpio Moon trines Venus (3 Pisces) at 12:08 PM EST. Scorpio is traditionally associated with the “Dark” goddesses, Kali, Hecate, and Pele. Allow the compassionate goddess (Venus) to join with the potency of the “Dark” goddess for the purpose of using powerful life force energy in manifesting universal love for humanity.

The galactic energy for today is Yellow Galactic Warrior:
“I harmonize in order to question
Modeling fearlessness
I seal the output of intelligence
With the galactic tone of integrity
I am guided by the power of universal fire.”

Full Moon in Virgo
Wednesday, February 23, 2005
8:54pm PST
5º 41'

This is the Full Moon of healing and service. Virgo understands that disease manifests itself in societies as well as in individuals. There is so much dis-ease in our world and we all need to awaken to our role as healers. This is especially true on this Full Moon in Virgo, which heralds the start of a five year period of the evolution of human consciousness through contact with Chiron (the wounded healer) in Aquarius (the collective).

Unfortunately, when most astrologers speak about Virgo (usually through gritted teeth and with more than a bit of negativity) they use descriptives like perfectionistic, critical, analytical, organized, discriminating, scientific, empirical, and calculating. Well, show me one person who hasn't wished to have any one of these qualities when they were badly needed! In truth, we all express our Virgo side when we strive to be our best. (Which I might add is not such a bad thing.) Sometimes, when referring to Virgo, we are lucky enough to hear astrologers use words like healing, service, sacrifice, and mentoring. Virgo is the healer, the doctor, the nurse, the teacher, the therapist, the worker, the researcher, the scientist, and the engineer. For Virgo, caring comes in the form of finding workable solutions to everyday problems. Virgo is the true healer of the zodiac because in its mind, if it causes pain, it warrants attention and a cure.

This is a serious Full Moon, ripe with potential for health and healing. Virgo screams for us to pay attention to the body and take responsibility for our health. If you are currently dealing with a serious health issue, don't take anything at face value. With Mercury and Uranus in Pisces conjunct the Sun and opposite the Moon, deep questioning about your illness is in order along with openness to alternative or new approaches. What are the psychic causes of physical illness? What are the spiritual implications of disease? What is my body trying to tell me about my life? If my current methods are not working, what healing processes have I rejected in the past due to a fear of trying something different? Become an active partner in your healing process. Read the research, ask lots of questions and engage your practitioners in dialogue about your progress. Virgo wants to understand the mechanics of illness so that it can better affect a cure.

By the way, this is the ideal Full Moon to start a weight loss or de-tox program, especially with Venus (beauty) and Chiron (wounding) in radical change, hard-nosed, tell-it-like-it-is, unemotional Aquarius. Virgo rules a desire for purity and cleanliness. At its worst, this desire can manifest as compulsive hand washing, anorexia, extreme asceticism, strict dietary regimens and hypochondria. At its best, it becomes an insistence on maintaining good health by watching what we ingest. For this reason, the Full Moon in Virgo reflects a tremendous desire to throw off unhealthy habits that create sickness and sadness in our lives.

For those of you who committed to releasing addictions and committing to health on the New Moon in Aquarius, this is the time to begin your program and commit to health and healing. Even with Mercury (the mind) in Pisces, it is time to arise out of the Neptunian fog of addiction, get real, get embodied, and start being a contributing member of society. No one gets a free ride, no one.

Speaking of contributing our gifts to the world, this is the time to celebrate those who work tirelessly to serve the needy, the wounded, and the infirm. If you have a friend or a loved one who is one of these amazing people, you might want to give them a chance to turn some of that love and attention inward. Encourage them to take a day off, get a massage, go out hiking in a beautiful setting, or just rest and relax at home. Believe me they won't do it on their own, even if they actually admit to being burned-out. You'll have to drag them along! If you work for one of our helping/healing institutions (hospitals, food banks, NGO's, non-profits, mental health groups, healing centers, homeless shelters, social work departments) think of a way to celebrate your hard work. Organize a lunch party or hire a massage therapist to come in and do chair massage.

This Virgo Full Moon also gives us all an opportunity to make friends with our inner critic; that slave driver who can be either a helpmate or a hindrance. For those of you with strong Virgo in your charts, this is the Full Moon to tame the perfectionist living inside your head. You know, the one that says, "Nothing I do is good enough." Those inner voices of self-doubt block the ability to act with conviction. This is the time to talk back to self-doubt and take control! Use this Full Moon to say, "This is good enough!" and get your talent out there.

Here is something you might not know: the Goddess Astrea, the "Starry One" symbolized Virgo, the sign which rules the physical world and by extension, our bodies. Virgo knows that all life comes from star-stuff. Everything you are existed 15 billion years ago at the time of the Big Bang. Virgo and Pisces enjoy a deep connection around this realization. Pisces understands the oneness of all life through a deeply spiritual lens. Virgo understands the oneness of all life through the physical realities of cosmology, mathematics and physics. If we all experienced our bodies with this kind of integrated Virgo/Piscean conscious awareness, we would experience existent transcendent reality in every cell, in every life form. There would be no violence because everything would be holy. In Virgo's world, holiness is achieved through transcendent embodiment, and from this state of embodied awareness one can heal almost any malady. Make no mistake about it; the mind-body connection is the most powerful medicine for healing and the true wisdom of Virgo. The potential of the entire cosmos lives within the body. So on this Full Moon, experience your celestial origins by celebrating your body as a heavenly gift!

One last thought: this Virgo Full Moon is opposite the Sun/Uranus/Mercury conjunction in Pisces. With the Moon so focused on service and the Sun/Uranus/Mercury conjunction so insistent on speaking compassion, peace, and love, we each need to come to grips with globalism. The Virgoan cry of "get real and heal" is coming from many of us who seek global unity; a very Sun/Uranus/Mercury in Pisces ideal. War must stop. Threats must end. Religious, ethnic and racist hatred has got to go. Jingoism is a virus that has infected America through and through. When we reject other nations we reject ourselves. When we curse other nations we curse ourselves. When we destroy other nations we destroy ourselves. Even internally, America is destroying itself by insisting on being divided along red and blue lines. America heal thyself by becoming a beacon of love and light, rather than an unending source of global pain and destruction.

Your Dreams Take Over

Those Crazy Dreams

Flying, falling, floating. Doing somersaults in the snow with forgotten childhood friends. Dreams are mystifying manifestations of our subconscious that frequently leave us scratching our heads, wondering what on earth is going on in the depths of our brains. And over the next couple of weeks, your dreams -- and your reality -- could get even weirder.

You'll Be a Pisces Too

By the end of February, Mercury, Uranus, Venus and the Sun will all be residing in dreamy Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac. Pisces represents the end of a cycle and inspires the preparation for new beginnings (spring cleaning, anyone?). Ruler of the subconscious (and, therefore, dreams), it is also the most sensitive and spiritual sign. Pisces folk are much more aware of all that goes on around them -- soaking it up like a sponge -- and much of what they experience goes straight to their subconscious minds. Now, with four planets shining their spotlights on the sign, we'll all be feeling like a Pisces -- from preparing for fresh starts to becoming more attuned to our inner-selves.

Uranus Adds a Kick

Rebellious Uranus, ruler of technology, has actually been visiting mellow Pisces for roughly two years now, so when the other three planets make their moves into the sign, they'll also turn up the Uranian influence. You might become aware of some strange ailment and refer to Internet sources to understand of what's going on. Or maybe you'll start cleaning house and decide you need the latest in vacuum technology to really do a thorough job. Or -- and this is extremely likely -- you might wake up to realize that you just had the weirdest dream of your life. Fortunately, Pisces's influence is perfect for analyzing your dreams. So keep a journal by your bed, and don't be surprised to find yourself trying to figure out why you were flying next to your best friend from kindergarten last night.

Jun 20, Monday. The three-day Solstice Window begins today and is exact tonight for the Pacific Time zone at 11:46 pm PDT. This means for those in the Eastern Time Zone it is already June 21 and the time is 2:46 am EDT. The exact Solstice window is three full days when the Sun Stands Still rising and setting farthest north (Summer Solstice) or south (Winter Solstice) on the horizon. However, the Sun is moving very slowly along the horizon for at least two weeks before and after the exact Solstice with very little visual difference so you can capture the essence of the experience before and after the exact day.

The Solstices and Equinoxes mark the four main annual seasonal gates. This is because our Sun is the central hub of our Celestial/Solar Timeclock consistently ticking off the seasons in a precise and rhythmic pattern from the Earth’s perspective. These Solstice and Equinox points move one degree every 72 years backward through the constellations taking about 26,000 years to make one complete circuit through the ecliptic. Our current time finds these seasonal markers strategically aligned with the Galactic Poles (Equinoxes) and the Galactic Plane (Solstices) illuminating this giant celestial cross. Once every 6500 years the Solstices and Equinoxes align with these points synchronizing the Earth cross with the Celestial Cross. Currently the December Solstice is aligned near Galactic Center or the place the Mayans referred to as Hunab Ku, the giver of all movement and measure. The June Solstice is aligned with the opposite point or Galactic Anti-Center looking out into deep space. The March Equinox is aligned with the South Galactic Pole and the September Equinox is aligned with the North Galactic Pole. This alignment is one of several major indicators informing us that we are moving into a whole new space-time reality.

At this time it is safe to say these seasonal gateways are particularly powerful timings to witness and honor. Observing the Solstice Sunrise or Sunset with gratitude and appreciation for the unfolding Great Mystery is a great way to participate with this Timing. The June Solstice Sunrise naturally empowers us, piercing our senses, our bodies, and our hearts, with a light intelligence infusion coming directly from deep space via the alignment with the Sun along the Galactic Plane when we are open to receive this transmission. This year we have the added benefit of the Full Moon also transmitting light intelligence from the Galactic Core, or Hunab Ku. In fact tomorrow night June 21 is the fullest rise of the Moon with the Sun setting about 10 to 15 minutes before the Moon rise. This is a rare opportunity to receive a transmission from both Solstice points and the galactic plane via the Sun and the Moon. It is also interesting to note that the Moon is rising very near an exact 19 year Lunar Standstill. (Details about that another time but for now know this is a rare opportunity to experience both the Sun and the Moon at their extreme rising and setting points creating a possibility for empowered awakening beyond what we have previously imagined). Also worth noting is the Moon rising very near Antares the heart of the Scorpion about an hour before the Sun sets tonight. Antares won’t be visible until after Sunset but the Moon will be visible rising over the South Eastern Horizon (See May 24 and Mar 2 and 3 2005 Celestial Timings Archives for info about Antares)

Jun 21, Tuesday. Still well within the central potency of the Solstice window the Moon conjuncts Pluto this morning rising at Galactic Center tonight. This suggests we are in a shamanic process of shedding and releasing old fear programs that have limited our fullest knowing and experience of who we truly are and simultaneously we are receiving transmissions for new awareness coming in from the Galactic Plane. Don't forget tonight the Sunsets about 10 minutes before the Moon rises depending on the Horizon line. This is definitely worth witnessing if you have a chance. (See Jun 20 for details) For those who enjoy visual images it might help to imagine a “Cross of Light” connecting the Heavens and the Earth through the Galactic Poles and the Galactic Plane. The Keys of Enoch tell us that crosses have been used through out human existence to “indicate the life-giving fusion of divine wisdom with the primal element of earth, taking place through the energy grids which are as ‘tool’s’ for the transposing of energy into life.” (page 306) This Timing is an activation way beyond ordinary reality and the quickening is happening as evidence by the extreme chaos so many are experiencing. This is similar to the physics principle called phase transition and the chaos that precedes particles shifting into a super fluid or super conductor state of coherence. This model suggests the extreme chaos so many are feeling is an indicator of the approaching harmonic shift already in process. It brings to mind the saying; “It is always darkest before the Dawn.”
